We soon forget that these "pros" if busto, know how to start from scratch, they been busted before once in their lifetime, probably more then once. One thing that they have going for them, that the amateurs dont have is a resource to more money.
I think anyone who plays poker has been busted before, its how they can recover, that makes them great.

According to everything that I had seen, this was because so much of their money was leveraged into other business ventures, like real estate etc....

If this is true or not, I don't know since I don't exactly hang with Doyle and the crew, but more likely than not they looked for other investors to help mitigate some of the risk of playing so high.

Yeh, most really top players probably do really well if they have reasonably good game selection and don't have big outside leaks like TJ or Stuey. It may have been a quesiton of liquidity and risk. I am sure some of the big game regulars are worth a lot more than $15M.
