How about no returner at all? Just play the ball where the kicking team downs it. I'd rather they be pinned deep in their end of the field than give up free points multiple times per game.

I cannot believe that professional football players made those plays on punt returns.

Even in pre-season that would have been shocking.

Pathetic to give away a game like that.

because...

1) invading another team's thread to showboat is lame

2) they are only tied for first place

2) they are going to finish at 8-8 or worse, so who cares if they are in "first place" right now

What an excrutiating loss.

Reno Mahe will be back on this team by next week. I was so happy he was gone, and now I'm praying they re-sign him. What a disgrace.

As an Eagles fan, this loss is maddening b/c since January - this team has known that it had a PR/KR issue.

Once B. Johnson was out of the mix sometime in June, Bloom was the only returner going into preseason - he had no competition. Given that, how can you cut him? Now you have JR Reed / GLew handling the duties when the both got minimal (or zero) reps in the preseason and what they showed was worse than Bloom. I know that Bloom didn't do anything special in the preseason, but he didnt fumble either. It sucks to have a spot reserved for a mediocre KR/PR that can't contribute on special teams, but at least its better than what happened this week.
