psychopathy is defined in psychiatry as a condition characterised by lack of empathy or conscience, poor impulse control and manipulative behaviors.

also a few random comments:
Brandi reminds me of that old tupac song, "I get around"

Mark, for someone who is so good at making reads at the poker table, you sure suck at real life reads.

and thanks for this gem of a thread. we all deserve a huggle

Bluffthis! was right about maybe 1/4 of what he said. Now he will make tons of posts flaunting his accuracy and foresight and insult anyone who disagrees with him with more posts. This is the only bad part of this awesome thread.

Bluff, don't be results-oriented now

[/ QUOTE ]

When you have an 80% +EV and you win, that's not being results oriented.

[/ QUOTE ]True, but when in a situation where if you're 20% to call a sexual assualt victim a whore and 80% to get nothing from the situation except some online vindication....

Well, you can see my point

[/ QUOTE ]

The accused is presumed innocent in a criminal trial, not the accuser being truthful except for purposes of prosecution. And known liars aren't even likely to get a prosecutor to take their case even when it's true because they've cried wolf so many times.

BTW, see Sklansky's thread in SMP: Another Way To Explain My Rape/ Prostitute Position

[/ QUOTE ]
Right. But the accuser is not presumed to be lying until proven otherwise. And surely you can see the difference between saying "We shouldn't assume Captain Tom is guilty until we get confirmation" (as some people rightly said earlier in this thread) and the things that you said.

When I read the story, I was willing to give her the benefit of the doubt. In my mind, the consequences to her of someone believing she's a conniver and being wrong are FAR greater than the consequences to me if I believe she's telling the truth and I get fooled.

[/ QUOTE ]

That's the attitude you're supposed to have if you're the prosecutor. But she made us the jury and the judge of not just this specific story but of her credibility.

I think she's a psycho nutjob and I feel sorry for her and pray she will get some help. But I'm still not going to suspend my brain and believe similar stories from similar lying hustlers in the future. And if they've cried wolf and don't get believe when they're actually telling the truth for once, it's on them.

I am maybe 1/3 through this massive thread but I just wanted to state

BluffThis speaks the real world truth. He does so harshly and without any PC-dress up but what he says is how things are.

Maybe not how they should be and maybe not how you want them, but the way things actually are.

MY THOUGHT PROCESS AND ANALYTICAL JUDGEMENT BASED ON LOGIC AND HUMAN NATURE AND LIFE EXPERIENCE WAS RIGHT.

Get a grip all you PC tools and learn to think for yourselves. Maybe some of you are awesome poker players, but you're rank suckers in other aspects of life. What does it matter if you can beat 500/1000 NL online if some hustler with a sob story can take your roll?
