i'd be shocked if schilling pitches 150 innings of sub-5.00 ERA ball in boston next year. i would bet heavily against it, in fact.

what odds will u give me

i'll make a bet right now at even money that if schilling is in the 2008 opening day rotation that he'll pitch 150 innings or more with a sub 5 ERA

Re: *official 2007 red sox thread*

even money that if he's signed for 08 in boston he doesn't make 150 IP @ 5.00 ERA.

or, if you wish, even money that buerhle's VORP is greater than schilling's if both are in the AL next year.

Re: *official 2007 red sox thread*

hell neither of those bets is even likely not to be a push, what's the point in making them?

i'll lay you two to one that schilling doesn't throw 150 IP @ 5.0 ERA for boston next year, no qualifier

Re: *official 2007 red sox thread*

i wont do that deal. if schilling resigns theres probably a 25% chance that the sox do the deal with the understanding that he'll be rehabbing in the beginning of the year

lol @ the second deal. i never said schilling 08 > buerhle 08. my point is that if the sox have one rotation slot to fill, then unless schilling is a pumpkin or buerhle turns into johan santana, then signing schilling on the smaller deal is the better move

Re: *official 2007 red sox thread*

how about even odds and the qualifier is that schilling resigns for more than 1/10
