I dunno what I think on OT. This is the second game we've lost this year without ever having the ball in OT. I don't like college OT very much, but this is dumb.

Noodle, Needle, and MacGuyV = cavemen.

College OT > NFL OT x the universe^infinity. And College OT still sucks.

and so is kicking a field goal on 2nd down?

San Francisco won this overtime almost solely because of their special teams ownage of Arizona. That should be part of the game. I don't know what the best solution is but it's a lot closer to NFL OT than college OT.

1 week with a consultant we go from can't scoring to what 30 points on O for the 9ers. Just imagine what we can do in 2 weeks. Rofl. A. Wilson was out? Was huge if he was.

Also because Warner is too retarded to throw the ball away with a 310 lbs man in his face in his own endzone.

So you're being results-oriented. Your team is running bad on coinflips. Sound familiar? I'm sure the 2 teams that beat you guys are thinking the OT set-up is good.

Y'all should have won that game tonight, but OT had little to do with it.

Plays can be reviewed at any time, regulation or overtime so WTF does replay have to do with anything? I just want the game that's played during overtime to be basically the same game that's played during regulation. Seems like you college OT guys would rather say, you know what, that "football" game that we played for 60 minutes was a pretty stupid game, now let's play Calvinball instead. 1/3 of each roster, we don't need you anymore so you can all take a lap and hit the showers.

Your argument is not valid.

The game that is played in regulation is based on a clock, not on sudden death.

To imply that the game is anything like regulation is absurd. Get into field goal position, take a knee to get ball into middle of field, kick a fg. That is so far from regulation football.

Good point, "sudden death football" is an entirely different game from football, we should not be playing that to determine the winner.

EDIT: chim beat me to it

How can the OT game be close to the regualtion game if one team never plays defense and the other never plays offense?

Re: Week 12 Late Games

Would you agree that a situation where one team kicks off, the other team gets to play until they turnover or score, and then they must kickoff either way and the other team gets a chance, is closer to the college OT and better than EITHER the NFL or college OT? Basically it eliminates punters.

The only thing that could be derived from your previous post was "THE RULES SAY OT IS THIS WAY, IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT YOU DON'T LIKE FOOTBALL#~~!!~" Well, if rules weren't allowed to change you'd see a game where you couldn't substitute more than 3 players at a time and possibly having field goals worth more than touchdowns.

Because kicking a field goal on 1st, 2nd, or 3rd down with 5+ minutes remaining is so close to that pure, good ol' NFL regulation time that you love!

This would certainly be better than college OT, but I just don't like any system that eliminates the field position game. A defense deserves to be better off if they force a 3 and out than if they let a team get two first downs and then stop them. NFL OT has this, neither college OT nor your system does.

Honestly my preferred solution would be to just call it a tie for regular season games, and play an entire 5th quarter in post-season games. If people don't like ties then just play a 5th quarter no matter what.
