Not everyone knows what was posted in this monstrous thread. I'm sure it was an accidental double posting.

Re: ***Official Ron Paul video thread***

The ad is kind of cheesy. But I guess it has a certain targeted audience of which we aren't a part of. So show it to someone 35+ who lives in New Hampshire and has never heard of Ron Paul before to get the effect. I think this is the first of five ads he's going to run. I don't know what's wrong with just him talking in front of the camera like Romney does in his ads, except Congressman Paul comes off as more real. Anyway, this ad does some good things like bringing up he's a Dr. and has credibility on the health care issue and mentioning that he's against the war in Iraq. Other than that it leaves a lot to be desired. The last two people are the worst and most scripted. "He's catching on, I'm tellin ya...."

The grassroots hates this commercial. This is like the largest focus group in the history of the world, and they really, REALLY hate this commercial.

A little birdie told me that the campaign is responding before they put their foot in it too deeply.

You guys who hate this ad, you need to understand one thing:

YOU ARE NOT IN THE TARGET AUDIENCE!

They've already got your support! Think about it. They're not aiming for you, they're aiming for someone you know nothing about. How many of you sit around and watch TV 8 hours a day? How many of you get most of your news and info from TV? How many of you live in NH? I have an MBA from the University of Washington and have worked in marketing and advertising.

2nd ad is out! Don't worry, it's much better than the first one and I'm not just saying that because the first one was so terrible. This one is actually pretty good and it just features him talking about getting out of Iraq and cutting spending. Simple, but effective.

yeah I HATE this trend in political ads. Its obv fine is the whole commercial is someone else talking and they come in at the end to say they "approve". But say you approve something you just said yourself makes you sound like moron.

hahahaha. The View.

On a similar note, there is an effort to get RP on Oprah.

Here's the email I got from a meetup group for anyone interested in helping:

"Hey everybody,

We managed to get Ron Paul on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno (October 30th)…

Now some of our fellow supporters are trying to get him on OPRAH!!! Can you imagine how awesome that would be?! Send a quick note to Oprah & request that she have him appear as a guest! –jess

***in the "story" box you should write passionately about Ron Paul, the Constitution and his message(s)!

Thanks -Brannon"

I wrote in under my real name, but since Oprah is probably tailored to women and since most libertarian type people tend to be men, I would say to use a female name instead.

I think it's to show that it's an official Ad. Rather than the "swift boat" type ads that are paid for by outside groups.

I think RP really needs to get on Oprah and the View, and do everything possible to get his message out to more women. His supporters appear to be 81% male. That's the price he pays for being so hard-headed on abortion.

Maybe Borowife can do something about it...

What's wrong with his stance on abortion? I think it's the perfect stance for a politician runnning for Federal office. Personally agin it, but it isn't the Federal government's place to legislate it. Win-win. Unbeatable imo.

Because, sadly, the feminist crowd not only wants the Federal government to prevent states from having abortion laws, but many are one issue voters.

In 40 years of medical practice, I never once considered performing an abortion, nor did I ever find abortion necessary to save the life of a pregnant woman.

[/ QUOTE ]

So what if the situation did come up? He's saying abortion should still be illegal? That's pretty insensitive towards women. People don't give a crap about the state's rights stuff, it's viewed as a cop-out, people want to know what the candidate believes personally.

Cite? Unless you mean this in the same sort of "guided evolution" sense that say, my father in law believes in (which I would buy), I am skeptical. A google search does not turn up any immediately obvious links from the Paul-haters, like with the racist smears, and you'd think they'd be all over that. In fact, at a recent Republican debate Dr. Paul was one of the seven candidates that did NOT raise their hands when the moderator asked if anyone did not believe in evolution (the three who raised their hands were Huckabee, Tancredo, and Brownback). Dr. Paul has said that he believes in a Creator, which does not imply that he disbelieves in evolution.

I'd be willing to bet that Dr. Paul is not a "creationist" in either a YEC or disbelieves-in-evolution sense, which are the only kinds that really matter.
