You gotta do what you what you REALLY want. Sure you could make a "mistake" and regret it later. But hey, life is like that. I quit school when I turned 19 and I'm still very happy with my decision. School made me very unhappy and depressed. School is not for everyone.

The people who "make it" usually do what they feel they must do. If you're uncertain you should just take it easy for a couple of months and not rush things.

Remember, we only live once. Don't waste time on something you don't like.

I think dropping out it is a real bad mistake. Though I don't play huge NL games nor am I making what most make, I think playing poker should be second to getting the degree. Well paid jobs eclipse what most can realistically hope to make even during this poker boom, nevermind in 5-10 years.

I hope to graduate with maybe 40-50k from poker winnings that I can get a head start investing in, so I'll never be a in bad spot even with career troubles. If I happen to reach that goal I'll be tremendously happy

uhhhh think again. Average income coming out of undergrad is somewhere around 40k. OP can probably make about 200k a year before taxes. And if he invests 100-200k wisely at the age of 22-23 he can be set up for life. If you are going to convince him to stay in school, money is not the best argument to use:P

grimmstar,
just do both. Obviously you're making sick bank (must be running hot though to get your BR up so quickly within such a short time), but you can get the best of both worlds without too much hassle. Like so many in this thread have said, make the bank your making, get laid, and get a degree. Life is g00t.
