Re: When Giving Directions...
It's a framework. A way of looking at the world. A new paradigm would be changing the rules and starting over again with everything different.

Re: When Giving Directions...
I pronounce it PAH-RUH-DIME like para in parachute
I say JY-ROH even though I know it's wrong. New Yorkers also say KUHNISH--one syllable--for knish (this is correct) and FOE for pho (actually pronounced like the FUH in the commonly used four letter word). |
Re: When Giving Directions...
That made me remember another good debate ...
Does "aunt" rhyme with "taunt" or is it pronounced "ant"? EDIT: Beat the smartasses to the "'It' is pronounced 'it', dumbass!" |
Re: When Giving Directions...
it is pretty standard to pronounce it either way

I say JY-ROH even though I know it's wrong. [/ QUOTE ] Same here. Mainly because everytime I've asked for one or ordered one and said YEE-ROH people look at me like I'm retarded |
Re: When Giving Directions...
I would crack up listening to all you guys talk.

Re: When Giving Directions...
People literally crack up listening to me talk all the time. I don't blame them. I can be pretty unintentionally hilarious.
