Re: My rebuttal to Mark Seif on RawVegas.TV

im new here (duh) and ive been following this whole thing for a while

but has anyone mentioned the possibility of data recovery? i mean unless they physically destroyed the storage in a big bonfire in Costa Rica or Canada or wherever, there should be a decent chance that the 'lost' data could be recovered

and i sincerely do not believe a billion dollar corporation would not have back ups in triplicate...sorry dont buy it... my feeble little 1 man business operation has 2 backups of all data going back since forever (mind u its a small operation, but the size of the files im dealing with are 1 gig and up... not text files)

also a little disappointed in the poker community (meaning the 'names') that havent had the cojones to even discuss the matter to the public at all... and the poker media (minus RawVegas) for not asking them or anyone the right questions (or any questions)... kind of reminds me of our US govts current administration and the majority of the press

apologies if these points have come up already

I just made a test, basic rar compression divide a text file HH's size by 10.(from 1ko to 100o)

1 000 HHs size is 1Mo
1 000 000 HHs is 1 000Mo (1go)
1 000 000 000 HHs is 1 000Go

Compressed that's about 100Go for a billion HHs, well, even if my numbers aren't extremly accurate, I can't beleive for a second they don't archive them, that's just impossible !

That's like a bank that wouldn't keep account transfers history "because it take too much space". HHs are the only "proof" of a poker room's business, I'm sure that archiving them and keeping them safe is one of the first things you have to think about when you plan to "construct" a poker room software.

Anyone know how many hands have been played on AB to date?
Are they approaching 1 billion?

If so the average hand history (just taking one of my pokerstars ones) is about 1020 bytes.

So nearly a terabyte if my numbers are correct.

Incidentally, pokerstars are approaching 13 billion

Dan Druf, now that you are super famouse and all, can you reply to this post so I can have a sort of digital autograph to keep as a souvenier?

P.S. I believe your most impacting quote was "...and yet all the legal threats are saved for one of the victims."

[/ QUOTE ]

Replied AND quoted.

And yes, Mark's behavior is quite absurd when you consider the fact that he's going after one of the victims who lost over 15k in the scandal, rather than any of the perpetrators. That by itself speaks volumes.

[/ QUOTE ]

How Seif directed his legal threats was a previously missed but very profound point. Good job!

Is he lying about being an Owner or Spokesman? Or just trying to decieve people yet again.

He was on a take and should be lynched obv.
Every time I see this Seif idiot acting like nothing serious happened it puts me on a life tilt.

Is it that hard for the people in Vegas to send few people to rough him up a little (or little bit more) when he is in town?
Now THAT is a video I would like to watch.

People die for so much less then this how tf can this be happening.

Deleting HH's is obviously BS.

I'm 100% positive I could save every hand ever played on AP to my laptop.

Seif is an arrogant prick. I wish him and every other guilty AP affiliate justice in the form of a cellmate named Bubba.
