Maulik that's not true at all. The point is that having a huge logo across your chest is lame, not that what the logo says is.

Ya, I shouldn't disagree, I'm biased because my favourite article is from G-star. Apologies.

For people who are talkin about stylish hoodies, could you list a couple of links where we can find them?? Winter is coming and I need some new hoodies.

I have this hoodie in indigo:

It's lined with rabbit fur and is very comfortable and warm.

Ya, I liked that hoodie, too. I decided it wasn't worth close to $700, though.

Here are some hoodies I just picked up. I couldnt find pics online so this is me weraing them. They are both from buffalo and not too expensive, about 100 each.

This one is more of a sweater with a hood on, but its pretty warm and works between 40-65 degrees

This one is just a straight up hoodie.

Maulik,

I'm not familar with G-Star shoes. Like Polo or Brooks Brothers I imagine that they buy their shoes from someone else and market it under their own name. Anyway, the photo says they use a Goodyear welt so that's a step in the right direction with regards to quality.

Howard, I find Zegna shirts uniformly drab and boring. Worse, I think they're pretty much the worst value for high end shirts.

[/ QUOTE ]

I wear them for work, which is a business-casual environment. For some reason, they fit me perfectly and I can buy off the shelf; and they're supercomfortable. As a matter of style, they do IMO have some nonboring ones. On the value point, I agree: they're expensive. But for one or two, I suspect OP doesn't care.

[/ QUOTE ]

I'm not talking about expense, I'm talking about value. They retail for near equivalent prices as Borrelli, Fray and Charvet and more than Lorenzini, and they are not equivalent quality with those four. As for fit, it's great that they fit you well. It's important to note, however, that every shirtmaker sells several models and the typical department store (Saks, Neiman) buys the biggest model that fits everyone but no one well. For most people dress shirts are very much worth getting made to measure.

Clayton, Really, what are you trying to do? If you want to look expensive that's easy, but costly. If you want to look fashionable that's easy too, but costly over the long term as you turn-over your wardrobe every year. If you want to look distinctive, that's hard. You have to figure out who you are and what you're about.

I just want to make a small upgrade from my current wardrobe. I'm heading over to Niagara in a couple days and when I get back from that I'll go shopping with a lot of recommendations from EDF in hand.

I'm not trying to create an entire new expensive wardrobe, I've now learned thats something you just dont do. I'm just gonna buy a few things here and there in each sorta category and give a small status report.

[/ QUOTE ]

Getting a couple things here and there still requires coordination.
