I've gotten a ton better since UIGEA but then again I had just gotten to 2/46max in the Spring before UIGEA was enacted.

I've obviously made more in the time since UIGEA just because I am playing higher stakes and have played a lot more hands than I did pre-UIGEA.

I've also been taking the 2 steps forward, one step back approach to improving at poker over the last year as I have played exceptionally well at times and also incredibly bad, tilted off incredible amounts of money. But I do feel like I have gotten significantly better after every major downswing that I have had.

I never got to play much on party, I was too busy doing casino whoring and sucking at 6max limit

Only started playing NL a year ago, so I guess I was learning at 25nl and 50nl this time a year ago. Kinda weird to think about.

FGator.
I can relate to what you say in a big way. I thought you were wrong but I have to agree that I am a huge luckbox and probably one of the causes to your constant bad beats.

I really thought I was a good player but when I downloaded that EVprog I cannot lie to myself any longer.

I think of quitting poker altogether.
It is just 30000 hands but I am sure it will escalate the longer I play so the hops of ups and down will just be larger and larger.

As you can see in the graph the difference is small the first thousand of hands and then it just escalates.
I cannot bare myself when I get to 100k,500k+ hands.

The only thing I can say to my defense is "may Jesus be with you".
Fergusson developed the FTP software so he probably put in some luck quirks in the software from the start and now it is too late to change things cause some are lucky and used to be it and some are bad beat guys that you seem to be.

If anyone want to discuss this luckbox thing or some serious poker theory mess my inbox.

As you all can see I am luckboxing 0.8BB. That really put me off. It might be 2 times the winrate of players like FGator and other unlucky people. Imagine when they go from a solid 0.4 to -0.4BB. That is nasty stuff.

had a bad run playing HSNL, probably wasn't totally ready to take on 10/20+, but feeling pretty good about my game and about my year in general

oh yah enjoying my trip right now, getting hyphy in the bay

i think skillwise I am about 100,000 times better than last year and I'm confident in winning at almost any stakes so I'd say its been a good year

oh ya and i made money

fgators - you are [censored] pathetic and deserve to lose/break even. these people are not 'lucky', they are good at this game - i'm not sure if you know what that means.

you are a retarded troll.

as for me, i took a long break and still don't play enough hands.

Re: It\'s been about a year- post UIGEA success?

I was running at ~6ptbb/100 pre-legislation @ the 3/6 on party. Post-legislation I'm still playing 2/4 (granted I have run like horse [censored] the few times I've tried to move up) and I'm considerably better than I was back then. This year I'm making about 3/4 of what I made last year (b/c I'm playing more hands obv), but I did also play as high as 100/200 lhe pre-legislation as well and I never play limit anymore, the swings are sick and I don't wanna go through that [censored] again.
