PS When the pros took on Beal they had significant trouble raising $15M and asked for outside help to raise a fund....shows how fking piddly small this game really is

It is sort of funny that this handful of gamblers are blown up as playing this "big game" and having all this dough, when they barely have $10-100 mill between them, while they're sitting in casinos that make around $1 B/year. It's just such ridiculously small potatoes.

I don't know about the others but Magician Esfandiari is NOT BUSTO at all and has never played the big game.

[/ QUOTE ]

Never said he played big game but the former is true

How do you know this though? If you don't back it up in any way than your statement of truth is meaningless.

I'm not a fan boy or anything but Antonio sure seems to play NLHE really well. I'd be a bit surprised if he was busto unless maybe it was from some huge business deal gone terribly wrong. He doesn't seem like the type to take reckless shots at high stakes games.

Yeah I guess it's just impressive because of the ridiculously difficult way in which they make such a good living (well some of them at least).

DS,

Wait a sec, you're saying that among a lot of guys at a similar level of skill, the ones that run the hottest will often jump up to higher levels and some of them will run hot there as well and be perceived as being far better than they really are? Thanks, hard to imagine why nobody had thought of that as a possibility until now.

No. I'm not saying that. I'm saying that the group of people you mention INCLUDE some of the biggest names in poker. (Even some who would agree with my statement but don't realize they are not an exception.)
