but wow.. hoss is just a complete wack-job preflop. how can 3 betting Kx and Qx offsuit from the small blind be correct? i guess if he plays perfectly preflop it works? i dunno but like i said i guess he's the best. [/ QUOTE ] fwiw I'm pretty sure against people he considers to be v good he tightens up a good bit. [ QUOTE ] obviously. but that's not really saying anything other than "anyone would be unlikely to become a tough player, even if he/she really tried" [/ QUOTE ] I feel like you guys are overestimating how hard/complicated poker is. I think most reasonably intelligent people can learn to become winning players with the right resources. |

i want this book also, wish i thought i'd be able to understand it [/ QUOTE ] meh, I read the book and understood most of it and still can't beat Stars 15/30. The book's merely interesting on its own--it takes takes a ton of tedious work and practice to put it to good use. Hats off to Hoss and co. |

what type of math does the book go into? [/ QUOTE ] It's mostly basic probablility and statistics. They do use some fancy notation which prob scares some people away. |
