I know money Tiger has it won, I am agreeing with you.

But in terms of better play in their sport, who had (has) a better job, it is close.

Jordan was the man much like Tiger is the man.

Golf is the easy choice. Travel around to beautiful areas, treated like kings at each stop, minimal strain on the body, lots of money if you're great, very good money if you're average. What's not to like?

[/ QUOTE ]

Wrong, unless by average you mean top 50. A lot of golfers on the other tours(Nationwide and such) as well as those below 200 may have other jobs to try and supplement their low incomes.

By average, I'm saying maybe 75th to 150 on the PGA money list. Those guys are still pulling down close to a million at the top end of that range, and 350k at the bottom end. Yeah, the Nationwide tour probably sucks, but nobody suggesting being a football kicker is talking about minor league arena football.

If you are on the PGA and you have a good agent your total earnings is between 8-10 times the amount of your total prize money. Some people may think 950,000 prize money isnt a huge amount but that is going to be over 6 million for sure if you include endorsment deals, commercials etc.

You think Justin Rose and Stephen Ames gets millions in endorsements and appearance fees?

Yes, they do.

If you're the 50th best golf player in the world, you're not making that much money. If you're the 300th best basketball player in the world you're making a killing.

In the course of their respective careers the golfer will have made more money.

If you're one of those golf pros with no big wins but solid results, you will only rarely be getting recognized in public.

What is wrong with having a ton of money and not having everyone asking you for an autograph everywhere you go? The fame would get REALLY old REALLY fast.

You'll get any girl you want, and will be invited to the hottest events / parties.

Have fun doing this stuff when you are 40 years old with a wife and two kids.

Who cares about the money? I mean really, any of these sports you'll be set for life.

I would want to be a professional rugby player. Get to play one of the best sports in the world, get the physical confrontations, potentially get to represent your country which would have to be pretty freaking special.

Sure, any of the Seppo sports would get more money, and soccer would get more global fame, and so on, but what the hell, you want what you grew up wanting I guess.

In order, I think baseball and golf are the two for security and money combination. I think baseball would be more fun.

If given the actual choice, I would take hockey goalie. A top pro can make enough money. I like the team aspect of the game, but goalie provides the chance to shine individually.
I also don't mind getting hit with high speed rubber projectiles.

Assuming they make league minimum, I would have to say major league bullpen catcher. They don't have to do anything except bend over and catch a baseball. Also the bullpen is a circus. Some people sleep, some people cook food, and all most people do is goof around. League minimum is probably around $350,000. Not a bad gig if you ask me.
