Re: Fuji @ The Second Break of Day 2 (4:30 PM)

I think around 890 money, so I think he'll have to make it well into day 3.

so how close if fuji to making a cash finish?

[/ QUOTE ]

837 is the set number for cash this year I think.
Currently:
Day 2A 830 players remain
Day 2B 1700+ play tomorrow

There's no true way to tell how close he is till they decide when they are going to cut off day 2A and that will tell how long day 2b will be. Then when 2b is done we will know how far he has to go when day 3 starts on Friday.

In the first hand of the day, Fuji was sittin on 55 from the sb. UTG+1 (has fuji covered) made it 1,200 to go, player immediately to his left (fuji has him covered)just calls, folded to Fuji who shoves. BB folds, original raiser folds, last remaining player also folds.

[/ QUOTE ]

Uhhhhh... didn't he have over 20k at the start of the day? This seems highly non-standard.

[/ QUOTE ]

I think what he said is he's sitting on POCKET FIVES not 55,000

Brother just called him and conferenced me in on the call.

"I'm in a hand, gotta go."

[/ QUOTE ]

I think non-standard part was not a misread. It's surprsing that Fuji would push 20k more into a pot that's only about 3-4k in size with just 55. Even if he was planning a squeeze play, a smaller raise would get the job done.

[/ QUOTE ]

I thought about this for a bit.

1) If he has some read that UTG+1 is a light raiser / weak player, he mostly has big cards, then he's putting him to the test for half of his stack. Raising is a good option here.

2) I don't know exactly, but I think the day started with 100/200 blinds. With 20K in chips, 55 is a good hand after this action, and worth a raise.

3) Any raise will effectively make him pot committed and he will have to call the other guy's push, getting good odds. He may as well just push here.

I don't buy it. He's sitting in the small blind with 1100 to call into a pot with 3-4k in it. I don't think it's worth gambling 100% of your stack when a call commits a mere 5% of your stack. The blinds are still small and move slowly, so it's not as if he's coming to a push and pray situation any time in the near future. Take a cheapish flop, flop a set, and bust someone.

got my #'s wrong 873 pay not that it makes a huge difference. This is the suposed payout schedule based on WSOP Main Event Payouts thread in the WSOP disscussion forum

Edited to say that these numbers may not be super accurate since I can't find anything to confirm them either on CardPlayer or the WSOP site.

Edited again: to say I just found the payout on WSOP's site and the numbers appear to be accurate.

i think i butchered this hand when i was talking to eez on the phone.

preflop is good.

the flop was Q93 with 2 spades and a heart and it went dark chk/chk.

turn was the Qh and it went dark chk/bet 3k/call.

river was the Ts and it went dark chk/tank and i chk behind. the mid 30ish swedish player goes berserko when he tables his TT after i show my trips. honestly, i beat nothing against this player - he was super solid preflop and our stacks really didnt seem right for a value bet/fold. if i were to bet i would have probably pushed.
