very nice Nat

and as for automatic vs manual, both of my parents drove automatic so I don't know how to drive manual so I bought an automatic and I think it's plenty of fun to drive, but I don't really know anything about manual besides that I tried to learn in 15 minutes when I was looking at cars and it was hard.

it's pretty easy, i've taught 20+ people to drive manual and most of them get it w/in 20 min or so. the only tricky thing is starting on an uphill (since you live in ithaca that could get dicey).

19" wheels

Sport seats
6 speed manual

and best of all ... $12K less than a similarly spec'ed 335i coupe.

What color is that? Black Obsidian?

It's Blue Slate. The car looks a lot more gray in the pics than it is. I think most people would say it is blue when they see it in person. But it's both blue and gray, depending on the light.

Beat: a female friend of mine thought it was purple. Ego went poof.

people 2 doors might look slightly better, but the PITA when you have more than 1 passenger is not worth it IMO

EDIT: btw very very nice car OP

[/ QUOTE ]
I don't drive more than one other person too often and when I do, it's their problem. Not to be an ass, but I don't buy a 40-something thousand dollar car to make it nice and enjoyable for other people.

Nat I'd love to see a well as you have a very different story to lots of other 2p2ers who've made 7 figs from the poker boom, and seem like a cool/interesting guy.

Sick Brag

<3 manuals, nothing comes close..

[/ QUOTE ]

even on sports cars is 8 speed gearboxes and 10k redlines?

i swear to god some people just swear by manuals because they don't know wtf they are talking about (not all people, because they have their place in some cars)

edit: still a sick car

[/ QUOTE ]

There are no sports cars in existance with 8 speed gearboxes and 10k redlines.

There are no race cars in existance with 8 speed auto gearboxes and 10k redlines.

There are no race cars in existance with auto gearboxes unless there is a specific racing class specifically for auto boxes.

Quite a few drag cars use autos, the 911 turbo is actually faster to 60 with a tiptronic
That said, I'm a manual trans fan myself. Its more a question of feel and fun, you're more connected to the car when you row your own gears.

Re: Brag: G37

I might be able to get off the line faster with the paddle shifters on the G37 automatic. At least until I really get to know the clutch well. But like you said, that probably isn't the most important thing, it's more about having fun driving.

It's the same reason why I wouldn't get an SMG M3 if I could get a manual. Sure the SMG is faster, but it's less fun AFAIK (tried it once).
