Re: *** Official NY Mets Our OFFSEASON Has Come Thread ***
Allow me to say something heretical:
Just because the pitching staff has a bad year does not mean that the pitching coach is bad and should be fired. This is particularly true when he has a demonstrated history of success. After a while, of course, everyone is held accountable. But in Peterson's case, one bad half is not enough reason to replace him. |
Re: *** Official NY Mets Our OFFSEASON Has Come Thread ***
right, i think peterson is more useful than not to the team and is there anyone with his credentials the mets can get??
still, this is a business and when players don't perform, coaches get axed a lot... again, i would like to let him work with the younger pitchers |

Re: *** Official NY Mets Our OFFSEASON Has Come Thread ***
Turk Wendell had at least 1/2 of a pretty good year.

Re: *** Official NY Mets Our OFFSEASON Has Come Thread ***
its not that the staff had a good year
it's that it got progressively worse and he triggered the kazmir zambrano trade -- saying kazmir didnt have what it takes, and "I can fix victor zambrano" in 30 minutes and he wasnt a guy willie hired. And i think omar is gonna let willie decide his fate imo |

Re: *** Official NY Mets Our OFFSEASON Has Come Thread ***
BTW,
With the way the Phils series is going there is a chance the Mets are going to finish the year with a higher winning % than the Phils if you include the Phils playoffs. So I'm gonna say the mets won the NL East if the Phils get swept, percentage points baby.
