If anyone can find the SNL skit of Petty and Dylan it is hilarious.

Best song is 'See his pug-nosed face' on Extras season 2 imo.

interesting choice. speed of life, breaking glass and sound and vision are 3 of my favourite bowie songs, some of the album gets a bit much for me though. guess im not a die hard bowie fan

[/ QUOTE ]
Well, the second half is all the ambient stuff with Brian Eno, so it's definitely a departure from the usual. It is pretty cool, though, and the six songs on the front half are all amazing.

ill get right on it nath. heard of blood on the tracks and blonde on blonde (i think thats supposed to be his most famous one)

[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, like I said earlier, Blonde on Blonde is in my top-5 all time. Highway 61 is really good, too, but it's shorter (Blonde on Blonde was originally a double album), and I don't think it's quite as good. Lots of people think Blood on the Tracks is his best, but it's also a real departure from what he was doing in the 60s-- he's older, wiser, a little more grizzled, a little less psychedelic, etc.

nath,

I thought the Jens Lenkmen liking was a joke. My friend put one of his albums on my ipod, gave it 3 songs and took it for hte mindless, boring crap it is.

No, it's really not. And I can see why people would think it's crap but "mindless" and "boring" are pretty far off as descriptions. (For example, you can't really tell a story a la "A Postcard to Nina" and be mindless at the same time.)
