You folks apparently have the email address of a number of high stakes players who played that tournament and were cheated.

How about sending them an email to let them know they were cheated?

You could also check the data for a significant hand that each player would likely remember, where his or her hole cards were not divulged. This could confirm the accuracy of the HH. Also ask them to post here for confirmation. This would go a long way past whatever "proof" there is so far.

Also, if AP does not announce that some people's email addresses have inadvertantly been divulged, there may be some action available for a lawsuit. Failure to notify could be criminal.

The emails are apparently just of people who observed tables.

Although I haven't looked into it, it is probably not illegal to divulge email addresses in Costa Rica

We could go the other way too. Anyone who played in this event can feel free to ask me or anyone else with this file to state their hole cards from the start until around 11:20 PM. I'll happily look up any hand number and confirm it for them.

lol josem, I like your style. Yes, you are correct. There is absolutely no legal action anybody can take against AP. However, that doesn't mean you can't do anything to the lying thieves that run the show.

We haven't been able to id any of the ip/email lines as belonging to POTRIPPER.

[/ QUOTE ]
Does this mean it is not there or that there is nothing to correlate player names with the email address? If his is the only email missing, I think there may be a case that it is an inside job.

If there were a valid case made in a US court, it might be possible to have access to their servers blocked from anywhere in the US. If other countries can do it, there is no doubt in my mind that the US can. I don't think anything like this is impossible.

There are a lot of records of people just opening and closing the table and none that point to the person playing on the table. For instance, Mark Seif opening and closing a table that he was not playing on, but no record of him opening the table that he was actually playing on. Also, there are people who didn't play in the event (I know their email addresses because I cross-ref'ed thepokerdb's backend system) and were just opening and closing tables all over the place.

So yea, the IP/email info is just observers.

maybe if you told us why they would want to do it, then we would know.

I don't know why they would do it, but they do. Or at least AP does. The why doesn't matter to me too much tbh.

wtf? most internet servers keep logs for trouble shooting, record keeping, and the like. since the information is automatically created by the server ('cause it needs to know who to send the data to) it is very easy and standard to record the connections and llogs.

if you have a decent NAT router, look at the logs and the detail that is recorded in there. I one made the mistake of getting these logs emailed to me, and were bombarded by hundreds of emails a day.

Cruzincat 10-14-2007 07:21 PM

Re: Latest cliffsnotes on Absolute soulreading.

The only reason I could see is to have a record of anyone that gets involved in the chat. Other than that I see no valid reason. Unless you consider monitoring to see who might be data mining to be valid. Should AP actually care about that? That can probably be accomplished without logging in anyway.

I have proof there was a security breach. It's clear on an email I received back from A/P. It started with a reinstall. I got a security issue and emailed it to A/P. It said Rushanns computer was attempting to access mine through a wireless connection right after the install... It was weird.. A/P responded back explaining it wasn't their program and they 'fixed the security breach...and that playing at A/P is now 100% secure.."

They admitted there was a breach in the email...If you want to see the email, I'd be happy to forward it to you.

It was from a Dennis at A/P Tech support...
