That insurance deal at the end was a mess. Phil came up with about the right odds of 4.5-1, but did so in a totally incorrect way. The way he phrased it made it sound like he was not taking splits into account, because he said 36 to 8 (actually 37-7), which are the odds he will win or split the pot. It seems like Brandon could have made Phil pay out the 12k, because their agreement did not say anything about what happens in a chop.

The real math is 44 unseen cards, 31 win for phil, 7 for eli, 6 chop. So really the odds are 31-7 instead of 36-8, which is still about 4.5-1. So if they ran the river 44 times, phil would pay $372k, and collect $336k. So he paid about $947 in ev, not counting the splits, for the insurance.

How do you figure that he owes 40k and 8k? I could understand your saying that he owes 10k and 2k. Did you think that his deal was 4:1 the other way--that is, that he had to pay 40k to buy 10k worth of insurance?

Please explain.

[/ QUOTE ]

You are correct Sir, he owes 10k and 2k. My mistake.

[/ QUOTE ]

he for sure either owes them or cheated them, one of the two.

I picked up on this right away and then quickly figured the math in my head real quick to make sure he the price was figured without consideration for split pots like I thought it was. Im surprised the people on the show that are smarter than me didnt do the same.

You don't have to be a live donk to laugh at that showdown fold. Remember when James Woods did that?

I have a feeling you are wasting your breath.

I'm looking forward to StephenNuts and JDesab coming into the thread

Sammy had no idea about insurance, as soon as BA accepted the deal PH offered, Sammy started to get interested.

Gold's showing of his 83 really is not cool. Why didn't anyone berate him?

The constant whining/complaining after losing a hand, in which you were never in the lead in the first place, is really annoying. You know, it goes check/check on 5th street, dood turns over hand and other dood goes "Ahh, you were dead to that card. Unreal, unbelievable. Blah blah blah". It's so freeking annoying to me because anybody can say whatever the hell they want without turning over the cards. This annoys me so much I've called people out on it live, yelling at them to table the hand that was "so far ahead of me it's sick" before 5th street. 99.9% of the time they act like they didn't hear me and turbomuck. That's right loser, stfu.

Man, last week the fanbois were trying to defend this scared money... It's good to see that they're (almost) not even trying anymore in this thread, and just hoping it blows over quickly. Jman is so out of his element, totally uncomfortable playing live.

And then he pulls of a James Woods? At the time there were like a million threads concerning the nubishness of Woods, including some major flamebait youtube movies. And when Jman does it it's "a mistake"? LOL, he even reflects on his play when nobody listens, it's pathetic really.

I can totally understand why he got kicked from the 500k lineup. Although it could be funny to see him donking it up. Ah well....
