wow what an annoying story. i would be pissed. anyone hiding behind the 'this was a charity event' obviously didn't put up the 1500 entry fee.

anyone have an email address for the charity? i'd like to send them an email and copy Joy on it telling them how wrong this is

Sending an email directly to her probably won't do much good. She can just ignore/trash 'em. It's really about who you cc on the email. Her boss, charitable organization PR person, Dateline (heh, heh), etc.

I'm an acquaintance of Terrence, and I read his blog fairly regularly. I have to say, this is total bush-league [censored] here, and everyone seems to know this.

How Joy Miller could be so in the wrong here and still think she is right is absurd to me.

Abusing Joy or, worse, the associated charity via phone or email is extremely wrong, and I'm sure it would lead Terrence to regret ever posting this at all. Don't do it.
