Default Obligatory semi-regular improve forum quality post

I posted this in the middle of another thread, figured it was worth its own thread. AZK, feel free to lock if you disagree!

--
I believe a number of the responses in this and some other recent threads are because this forum was created largely due to people's desire of having an NL forum where the discussion was oriented around somewhat advanced concepts. The level of hands that have been posted lately often are obvious in nature or show glaring basic mistakes. There are two other NL forums where people can learn basic stuff.

Mods, I think you guys should change the guidelines for this forum to 10-20NL and higher. People w/ interesting hands can use their judgement as to when something at lower stakes is interesting enough to post in this forum.

Mods locking or moving the threads that are so basic or bad to the medium or small forum would of course also be a big help. I suggest adding a couple of mods (flawless, fsu, Yeti, whoever) and cleaning up this forum, as it has turned into quite the cesspool again.

I read a lot of posts here, and thing that conceptual discussion threads are rather limited. I feel there is a big difference between conceptual threads, and line check threads where people ask questions about the proper implementation of a concept. Also, with some hands posted at 25/50 or higher, distinct knowledge of a given game or player may be needed, which limits the usefulness of the post to people who play that game.

I find the dilemma to be, is this forum to be explicitly for people who want to tweak their game, or, as I think many readers of this forum (read:lurkers) would prefer, a way for us to understand what makes these players (who presumably play this high because they are winning players) good. So maybe less questions about KK in a deep stack situation, and more posts like Matt Flynn's about pot control, or any of the other classics that really are in-depth discussions of interesting poker concepts. But that is just my opinion.

I agree. Every time somebody says something along these lines they get the typical "2+2 guys are such jerks" response. I say let the animosity die down by quietly moving these threads.

I dont think more mods is the answer. AZK does a great job, despite some peopel not being happy with him, he is > then them.

Perhaps the guidelines of what hands should be posted should be changed, and sure, some hands are rediculous, but certain posters shoudl grow up a little bit. And when I say a little bit, I mean alot.

What about 5/10 6-max? I think that a lot of the play there is very advanced. I can understand 5/10 10-max being considered medium stakes still though...

This is nothing against you dude but I can't stop laughing. I want 5/10 in here too but I agree w/ Diablo that a lot of the hands that get posted are so basic and could easily be handled by ZeeJustin and his medium stakes crew.

i agree that 5-10 is on the fence for this forum.

there have been tons of 5-10 hands that belong in mid or small stakes even.

that being said, the majority of 5-10 hands posted by the 'usual suspects' of solid posters around here are good hands to discuss.

like ive said before, im on 2p2 a good amount and wouldnt mind helping out as a mod. if needed.

Ouch a stab at ZeeJustin for no reason. According to my stats he has been cleaning up lately at 10/20 on PP.
