si -

don't know if they're sending me cause I quit drinking, cause I can find the Convention Center, or if they thought it was time for me to take another trip, but for the first time I'm going to Networkers and it's the first Vegas trip I've taken on someone else's dime -

(not counting the poker money I win, of course )

I'm there for the same, at the Venetian. I'll PM you my number.

If you're a CCIE, don't skip the party. Last year it was at the Palms, and they treated us very well.

only a CCNP - aiming for the written when I'm there but it's a hail mary - don't think I'm qualified yet but I'll see what I'm in for.

Not to completely derail, but how is the CCIE viewed these days? When I was considering it 6-7 years ago, it was very highly regarded. Now that there are so many tracks, though, has it become less of a big deal?

the lab is now just one day instead of two - I don't think it's as a big a deal as it was just because of all the stuff written on it now - (I also worked for the same company as Karl Solie, who wrote the book on the CCIE Lab exam - innerestin dude - always wore suspenders.) -

think it's pretty big - but for me it's almost a personal goal - once you get it you're pretty much elite - so to speak.

the stuff I'm going to Vegas for is Cisco Networkers - Cisco Technology - they build routers/switches and stuff that helps run networks -

CCIE is a network certification that is considered to be the elite of the Networking industry -
