Well Delgado is a career: .280/.387/.552 hitter with an OPS+ of 140.
Right now, a little more than 1/3 of this way through this season he is at: .227/.299/.412 with an OPS+ of 94 (below average). It's actually a bit of a drop off. But during May Delgado was: .273/.354/.495. And although his AVG and OBP have dipped again 10 days into June his SLG is up in June to .579 a bit better than his career slugging. So yeah, he had a TERRIBLE April. But he seems to be picking it up and I'd be really surprised if he finished the season with a BIG drop off from his career averages. |

i might be off in my thinking, but this guy comes through every year and puts up the same numbers every year...he's not ancient yet either...dunno, even if there is a decline, he's not going to turn into a joke like he has been so far imo...

I think we (Mets fans everywhere, myself included) are all just being too negative right now. It's understandable given the history of this Mets franchise + how much we were spoiled last year. Last year we didn't have to deal with 10 days of bad baseball from our team. The Mets were a great team playing in a terrible league, even when we were playing bad we would still win because the competition sucked.
Not so much the case the last couple of weeks. A lot of NL teams improved. We have (arguably) the toughest Interleague schedule. We all knew June would be a tough month. Let's hope we can get and stay healthy over the next few weeks and they'll turn it around in no time. |

I'm off to Dodger Stadium. I'm gonna try to give the team a speech to kick their asses into gear. What should I say? All I have so far is:
"C'mon guys, let's get it together. Not you, Scott Shoenweiss; you need to stay at home." |

[ QUOTE ] this is becoming impossible to watch. [/ QUOTE ] [/ QUOTE ] Usually I hate when the Mets are on the West Coast since I never am able to stay awake for these late games (yes, I'm lame). But this is probably a blessing right now. |
