[ QUOTE ]
If any of them opened a neteller account in their name to help Justin, and the account ever had $10k or more in it during the year, they are legally required to fill out a form saying such. That will often trigger an audit in and of itself. [/ QUOTE ] The degree to which the above is wrong is frightening. On all counts. |

CSC,
I think you are off the mark this time. It is pretty clear to me that ZJ knew he was cheating, he just made his own set of rules up (perhaps consulting w/ his "crew") as far as what degree of cheating was OK for certain amounts of financial gain. A guy who's making up his own rules where some level of cheating (you know, not as much as the REAL cheaters, of course) is part of the equation has some severe problems when it comes to his fundamental moral compass. |

To me, this makes it a 2nd degree offense. It is not acceptable and he deserves to have any money he won in MTTs where he did this and redistributed amongst the other players. [/ QUOTE ] Exactly! |

[ QUOTE ]
Let's keep this in proportion. I've read ZJ's and I can easily believe that the reason he used 6 accounts was because only playing 1 account in an MTT is kind of dull when you are used to multi-tabling. Yes it would give him an unfair advantage if two of his accounts ended up at the same table, but I don't believe this was his main purpose in using multiple accounts. I don't believe that it happens very frequently in a tournament and I don't believe when it does happen that the advantage is huge. To me, this makes it a 2nd degree offense. It is not acceptable and he deserves to have any money he won in MTTs where he did this and redistributed amongst the other players. However, if I had been dumb enough to do and get caught pulling something like this when I was 19 (I prolly was), what would hurt me most would be the reaction of almost everybody here. Again I don't believe his primary intention was to gain an small advantage. I don't know the kid, but I think it is sad how a lot of haters are jumping on this as if he had dealt from the bottom of the deck. [/ QUOTE ] You obviously have not read the thread(i don't blame you but you haven't). There are several post that clearly show how this is cheating/stealing. This is also something that was obvious to ZJ. He did it anyway. He had probably been doing it for sometime. |

[/qZJ probably doesn't think it's very funny, and I think he's been punished enough by losing something like $100k and his reputation.uote] Is one allowed to think the perhaps that is not punishment enough? |

mikechops,
I think it is very surprising that you and many others realize that ZJ is willing to bend the rules to maximize his EV in a given situation, yet believe that when his actions lead to situations that let him really capitalize on this cheating, he doesn't take advantage of it at all. ZJ's "I open up more SNGs when I find myself at the same table and then I can't even remember what cards my multiple horses have!!!!" is more pathetic than JJ's Grandma story. |

[/ QUOTE ] JJ at least admitted he multi-accounted it because it's a great way to apply +EV edges multiple times. It seems obvious that ZJ did it for exactly the same reasons (and why all multi-accounters do what they do), so I'm very skeptical he passed up those edges when they presented themselves. I'm also surprised some believe that ZJ didn't think he was cheating. |
