damn i feel like rocky this week.

getting pounded and beat into the ground, but going the distance and managing to win a couple buy ins each time against huge odds.

LOL I like to play the Rocky theme song when I'm getting warmed up to play. Eye of the Tiger is good too.

I had AQ spades that hand orange. I should have called yet I was totally throw off by the limp minraise. Thats generally the play of an amateur AA, which I thought he had.

Wingows is a US non-PT but the traffic is pretty dead.

cake- softwares awful, still, I play it, but its not worth it except if your willing to deal with so much bs.

bodog - still ok, high stakes are drying up

prima- no clue

absolute - deltak thinks he's taking all the money outta those games so watch out, they might be really dry

Also, orange, you were lucky to flop a set against an overpair on a 3b hand, what if the flop comes down 222, do you fold JJ then ? Is it a bad beat then ? Shrug

Durrr used to limp the button a lot if I recall right. Obviously you will have position postflop and can make a huge +EV edge by outplaying your opponents with a lot of hands. You're sacrificing a lot of +EV in the chance to steal the blinds, but it's possible in some situations that the postflop edge of playing a hand with them is even bigger.

I guess the balance would be if they resteal preflop with near optimal frequencies, that destroys your immediate preflop edge from stealing. So if they still play badly postflop in limped pots but play well preflop, this could be good.

Actually a lot of TAGs at our level are like this. They're got pretty good preflop ranges from watching cardrunners and reading 2+2, but they still just don't think about hands right so they make big mistakes postflop, so you could have a bigger edge on them by playing more limped pots. (limping keeps the pot small which makes you effectively deeper which makes the river play more important, and most of these guys suck at river play)

when i first switched from limit to nl, durrrr told me that i should be open limping any two suited from the button that arent worth a raise. i did it for a while and it seemed pretty +ev, but once people realized that im only doing it with weak hands they start raising which takes away all the value from the play. limping big hands as well would fix this problem, but thats obv -ev. in the last few months i cut down my open limping on the button a ton b/c im not convinced its better than raising/folding most of the time.
