certain 'big cheeses' have popped up to say that party is easy. is there some particular method of stacking the eurofish that i haven't understood yet? are we all just running bad? (tbh i am playing bad too).
Soes worry me the amount of party regs on here who don't seem to be winning.

I am one of those cheeses .... the thing is, that 100NL and above is tougher, there is a lot more 3betting and aggression is higher.

So when a cheese like me hits 50NL the threebetting seems small and in general I find the players kinda passive, they do not charge me enough when behind, their pattern are a wee bit more transparent, they are not really slippery and tricky and well ... they are just easier to read (dunno exactly why, but they are)

BUT ... this is moving down. When not used to aggression, floating and not having develop the reading skills and balls necesarry, 50NL is really hell.

I took me a long time to beat 50NL ... it is the black hole of poker, a wierd little level.

But stick in there and it will prepare you good for higher levels and someday seem easy.

50NL is where you just have to grow some balls ... next challenge is 400NL, where the going really gets tough.

Two most important things imo:
- Induce bluffs vs aggro players. They will do you the favour 7 or 8 out of 10 times with absolute rubbish.
- Valuebet passive players. But stay on the look out for completed draws. Most will chase just about anything.

I usually have a complete maniac at my table one out of every 10 sessions at stars. The thing is, though, that when they run hot they take stack after stack from you.

Generally, I only sit at tables with >40% vpip and >$7 average pot size.

For those on downswings. Basically what you do is you realise that everyone is FOS, and you come to the understanding that ONE PAIR is almost always good. Example hand where I didnt need the river:

Party Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.25/$0.50 Blinds - 6 Players - (LegoPoker HH Converter)

SB: $20.65
BB: $17.25
UTG: $50.20
MP: $43.07
Hero (CO): $56.30
BTN: $38.09

Reads: Cant remember, donkish obv

Preflop: Hero is dealt 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (6 Players)
UTG folds, MP raises to $1.00, Hero calls $1.00, BTN folds, SB calls $0.75, BB calls $0.50

Flop: ($4) 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (4 Players)
SB checks, BB checks, MP checks, Hero bets $3.00, 2 folds, MP calls $3.00

Turn: ($10) 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players)
MP bets $5.00, Hero calls $5.00

River: ($20) A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players)
MP bets all-in for $34.07, Hero calls $34.07

Pot Size: $88.14 ($3 Rake)

MP had K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (high card Ace) and LOST (-$43.07)
Hero had 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (a flush, Ace high) and WON (+$42.07)

speaking of party, those pre-ban days were a riot. there were so many maniacs. that's what stars doesn't have: maniacs. not LAGs, but maniacs. the type that raise 20bb pf, or push every other flop.

i miss those days

edit: i don't play at party now so have no idea if the maniacs are still there.

Where are you playing derosnec? And why?

.....................................

I have already mentally moved on from PP. I am convinced that stable RB (at a higher level than unmentionable) is more than worth it and that players elsewhere will not be significantly better than PP.

For example, I played a few hours at Mansion earlier today.

> The players were far worse than Party (albeit it was at FR).
> In addition, Mansion has 36% RB, and various RB calculators tell me that playing just ~1,000 hands a day yields over $500pm in RB alone at 50NL.
> Throw in some bonuses and a modest WR of even 3ptbb/100 and you have a reasonable income. Play more hands or win at a better rate, and things improve significantly.
> The software had far more features than PP.

And you can get even better deals at Prima or Crypto or probably loads of other sites.

So why stay at Party? Crappy RB (via Party Points @ an equivalent of ~8% RB), software that never updates or improves, retarded support, and players who may or may not be fishier than elsewhere.

I want to shamelessly promote my first hand post in... like... ages. It's rare enough that I have problems making a decision (albeit it a bad decision more than I'd like to admit).

I'd like to hear what my fellow Microbrewers think:

FWIW I'm on my worst PTY downswing of -6 buyins ithis month -all slippery downhillness.

I checked hands and it's mostly flopping a good hand then the board goes str8+flushy and I wasn't picking up many pots on flop - I didn't even get 100b stacked except ol KK vs AA.

The good part is I'm running hot @ my NL100 shots which are twice my NL50 losses -do u think teh poker gods are telling me to cut my uNL mooring lines ?

It's just NL100 is a bit crappy @ UK lunchtimes so I play Nl50 then.

Edit: LOL accidentally went into mu minbet holdem
