Is it really that unusual for a chip leader to have 1/3 of the chips at this point? I'd say at least half of the tournaments I watch end up being like this. Definitely no lock to win.

Also the blinds will not seriously threaten the top 5-6 players for ALONG time, they can easily wait for awhile hoping for a mistake or some sort of trap.

Is everyone looking for another radio broadcast? Having to watch cardplayer after the radio cast will be torture.

this thread is way too quiet on Friberg. Short of Cunningham and Doug Kim, he ought to be the fan favorite right now. He's frequented all the huge online games as "LiraErik" and would boost Swedish (and scandinavian) interest in poker to astronomical levels, as if we haven't seen enough scandinavians in poker already.

Meh, compared to last year I'd say this is an amazing FT. When there were like 12 left we had Matusow, Andrew Black in Jamie Gold's role as character with massive chipstack, and brad kondracki as the 2p2er (though many did not know Kondracki was a trout). Everyone else was like meh. Nobody had even heard of Hachem, and Dannenman only got some coverage because of his donk card protector. As it got down to 3 and 4 handed, thats when the focus started shifting to them.

With this, u got Jamie Gold obv, Cunningham (and this Fulltilt pro has a STACK that can go the distance unlike Matusow who was a medium stack at the FT), one of the top online players in the world (Friberg), and a 2p2er with a few thousand posts (Kim).

Hardly boring imo. And u know ESPN is gonna pump up the story of one of the other random donks if they happen to get HU or whatever. like dannenman last year.

ESPN will find a way to pump up two or three players and make things fairly interesting. Back in '04 and '05 I hadn't heard of most of the players in those FTs beforehand, either.
