I've got about 17k hands at 10NL, I beleive I have some major leaks in my game, is there anyone here who could look at my PT database to find them?

re party, downswings, etc.
it is interesting that a lot of party $50 players seem to be struggling/moaning - me, chomp, triggerle, i believe ama reported poor results in june... last time i looked at stats from players on party vs stars, party players were tighter and more aggressive preflop (but not by much and sample size wasn't massive). can anyone with bigger dbs confirm this? in my experience party is certainly laggier preflop than stars, but there are more massive fish. certain 'big cheeses' have popped up to say that party is easy. is there some particular method of stacking the eurofish that i haven't understood yet? are we all just running bad? (tbh i am playing bad too). just a small rant from me - basically i know i have to just 'connect' + not stack off so light + wait it out, but it does worry me the amount of party regs on here who don't seem to be winning. also what's the news with party unmentionable? are they stopping affiliates completely or something? |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] hey guys ...just a quick question....pokertracker is starting to RAPE my computer...i cant run anything with it...it just makes it so slow...even when i compact the hand histories...so get a new computer? or is there anything i can do to make it go faster [/ QUOTE ] First thing is to exclude yourself from auto-rating when importing. If you already have that off you can look at the postgres tuning thread on the Pokertracker forums. [/ QUOTE ] link? [/ QUOTE ] It's on one of the stickies in the postgresql forum (there are not many, you will find it) Basically, you cluster your database using the command line tool to make data retrieval faster. since we're talking about downswings, let me give insight into mine (over 50k hands):
the #1 major numero uno big mistake on my part was table selection now, i was getting coolered an insane amount and missing flops and getting lots of c-bets check-raised or flopping an A every time i had KK/QQ BUT . . . if i was at juicy tables, then i would have been paid off on other hands to soften the blow of the cooler hands instead what was happening was my big hands were getting no action unless i was crushed/sucked out on. whereas at juicy tables a larger % of my big hands would get action (or people would not play tricky postflop so i can get to showdown) and therefore the money made on those extra hands would cushion the cooler/missed hands it took me awhile to come to this insight because i kept reviewing PT and nothing looked bad. i wasn't calling raises with KJo or 3-betting AT or anything. i was just at bad tables. |

Same for me on Party this last week. I was due for some variance after running around 20bb/100 for my first 10 days there, but now Im having trouble figuring out the 30/22 type villains (or one 50/35 who I tend to tilt myself against).
June's been pretty much break even, with lots of swings so far. |

[/ QUOTE ] The only reason I play at party is: their software, unmentionable and their new point system. Although the point system is still crappy, played 4k hands at 100nl and only got 700 points (which is $7). Damn I wish I would run better again, I'm running at 1bb/100 which equals like $10/h. Hands like these irritate me, nothing I could have done about this one, except raise more preflop right? (villain was 54/15/3 over a 100hand sample) Party Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.50/$1 Blinds - 6 Players - (LegoPoker HH Converter) Hero (SB): $99.25 BB: $102.80 UTG: $139.51 MP: $115.00 CO: $53.90 BTN: $100.20 Preflop: Hero is dealt K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (6 Players) UTG raises to $2.00, 2 folds, BTN calls $2.00, Hero raises to $10.00, BB folds, UTG calls $8.00, BTN folds Flop: ($23) T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 Players) Hero bets $15.00, UTG raises to $30.00, Hero calls $15.00 Turn: ($83) J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players) Hero checks, UTG checks River: ($83) K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players) Hero checks, UTG bets $30.00, Hero calls $30.00 Pot Size: $143.00 ($3 Rake) UTG had A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (a full house, Jacks full of Aces) and WON (+$70.00) Hero had K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (two pairs, Aces and Kings) and LOST (-$70.00) I mean I could fold on the flop, but that seems weak against this opponent, bet the turn, seems like a no since I want to keep the pot as small as possible. In the end I beat nothing, except A9 and lower. TT/JJ/QQ/AA/AQ/AJ/AT all got me beat.. Yet I still call, because he is a donk, and I simply can't lay down TPTK against a donk... |

speaking of party, those pre-ban days were a riot. there were so many maniacs. that's what stars doesn't have: maniacs. not LAGs, but maniacs. the type that raise 20bb pf, or push every other flop.
i miss those days edit: i don't play at party now so have no idea if the maniacs are still there. |
