Very true.

The last time the Colts had a bye in the postseason was after the 1999 season, when they went 13-3 and looked amazingly better than their 3-13 1998 team. They rested during the bye and came out very flat against a pumped up Titans team the game after the Music City Miricle.

Ever since that game, I've been convinced that the bye week is almost more of a hinderance than a help. Especially for teams that thrive on timing and momentum like the Colts.

Shutting the team down after 13-0 (even if it wasn't totally for SD; but some players sat) was probably a mistake. But the media would've skewered Dungy if someone got hurt vs. SD, SEA, or ARI. Damned if you do; damned if you don't.

His play was fine, the Steelers were playing well, they were ready, the Colts were rusty and came out soft.
Credit the Steelers, good game.

I don't like Manning and I think he's the most talented QB in the league. I'd rather have Brady on my team, but Manning is certainly the most talented.

How do you mean? I don't really recall much difference between that team and any other pre-2005 Colts team. Excellent offense, terrible defense.

In fact, the 1999 team's offensive advantage was even greater because it was still novel at the time. They haven't done much new since then.

FWIW, the Colts D played very well in each of their last 3 playoff elimination games.

I'm shocked anyone could think this. The guy blew it, big time, but he's one of the greatest running backs of all time and is as humble as they come. I felt sick for the guy.

excellent? that is clearly wrong. dillon ran all over them last year, roeth marched down the field at will this year, and brady had 6.5 ypa in 2003.

I hate it for the same reason people hate peyton manning, brett favre, tom brady....

tired of hearing him fawned over excessively. he picks up 4th and 1 and he gets blown. it's tiring. he runs for 6 yards and it's a big run. it's retarded.
