DialIdol has it as Paris leaving with Kellie a close second. Probably too soon for that to mean much though.

I believe they only pick a bottom 2 this week.

Not sure where this idea has come from. If anyone knows, source please. Otherwise, it is probably still botom 3. Both last year and the year before (I didn't check earlier than that), they still did B3 at top 6. They do B2 at top 5.

Hmmm. I definitely remember one year them doing 3 groups of two. But, I also thought they did 2 groups of three once also. All the seasons kind of jumble together.

If they go bottom 3, it's Kellie, Kat, and in a shocker...Taylor!!1! Ha.

Seriously, could easily see an all-girl bottom three.

Tonight's performances (NOT overall chance of winning), ranked best to worst, in my opinion:

1 - Elliot
2 - Chris
3 - Katherine (thought the judges were crazy)
4 - Paris
5 - Taylor
6 - Kellie

I predict a bottom three of Kellie, Paris, and someone else between either Elliot, Katherine, or Taylor. Elliot would be the frontrunner for the bottom three, probably, but we could see Kat or Taylor there I think.

Chris is probably the only one who is safe based on this week's performance + past performance. Taylor's fanbase might be enough to carry him through despite the poor performance. I don't think Kellie's is going to be enough to carry her two weeks running, with two very subpar performances and looking pretty terrible tonight.

Long term, I'd rank them in the following order:

1 - Chris
3T - Taylor
3T - Katherine
4 - Elliot
5 - Kellie
6 - Paris

I - as well as the twelve people who were in attendance at my weekly "idol party" all - thought that the judges were pretty far off re: harsh critism of Katherine's performance. Three viewings of her performance to review re: the criticism, and she was still by far one of the best performances of the night.

I think Kat is battling Taylor's aparently large (and deaf) fanbase for the #2 spot at the moment. Chris is still leading the pack pretty strongly, i think.

I think there's a very outside chance (maybe 1%-2% that Elliot could slip in to the #3 spot over either, but its far outside, despite him having the best male vocal by far in the history of the competition. AI did an amazing job of finally cleaning up his appearance tonight, but it might be too little too late. We'll see.

I'm pretty confident that, baring some sort of significant surprise, we'll see Paris and Kellie go #6 and #5 respectively, with Elliot in #4 and then Chris, Kat and Taylor battling for the top two. We'll see.

HAY GUYS TAYLOR KICKED TOMORROW BOOK IT HEHE

yeah

anyways

I don't normally do this but quick review from my perspective:

Kat: sounded OK on screen, obviously sounded a lot worse out in the stadium. The quadruple-slam will probably garner her a lot of sympathy votes. #s rightfully didn't change. No comments on her wardrobe malfunction?

Elliot: zzzz song in my opinion, Pauler gushing was ridiculous. Gained a couple points from the basement he was in. DI shows high #s again, he could be the spoiler this year.

Kellie: really didn't sound that bad to me but its finally coming to the end of the line for her. I was strongly considering dumping her pre show at 15 but got greedy basically. This was REALLY REALLY bad for her tonight. I think she MIGHT be safe tomorrow but its really looking bad. Expect her gone next week or the week after, this can't keep happening, she can't keep singing bad and staying on in the show at this point. Its over for her.

Paris: could she have picked a worse song? Barbara? Only black contestest in the love song week and she picks barabara. Not only that, sang it like she knows she's getting the door. She's finished. If you have any shares get your $1/per quick.

Taylor: no comment basically, don't think anything changed for him.

Chris: the one to beat obviously.

So then you'll have no problem laying me 40-1 that Elliott makes top 3 right?

I find it very interesting that although we all watch the same show and hear the same perfomances, we can come to radically different conclusions. I guess we all filter what we hear through our own expectations and prejudices. I thought Kat was excellent, Paris ,Elliot and Chris pretty good and that Taylor and Kellie stunk the joint up.

I really look forward to see what the voting shows.

I think it's pretty likely that Paris will be leaving. Interesting in that all the professional singers/coaches seem to be the most impressed with her during their sessions. But she just did OK tonight, and doesn't appear to have much of a fan base.

Katherine - did much better than the judges gave her credit for, but went first and got roasted by them. If they do a bottom 3 instead of 2 she will be there (maybe even bottom 2). As an aside she is vastly overrated in the hotness department. Big, but saggy assets up front, with a large double wide in the back (poorly concealed by producers). Pretty girl, but naked would be a large disappointment to many on this site. Not much personality either. Boring, but to each his own.

Elliott - I like him OK, but as others have mentioned I don't get the hoopla from the judges. That being said, he was not bottom 3 last week, and according to DialIdol finished a strong 2nd last week. He really appears to be gaining momentum (kind of suprising), and could last to top 3 or 4.

Kellie - have always felt she has been undervalued, and that she has shown the ability to pick good songs when given a wide range of choices. Not tonight. Terrible song choice, and she has been by a large margin the worst performer 2 weeks in a row. I think she will show up in a bottom 2 or 3 this week, despite an obviously strong fan base. But if she can get back to singing more upbeat country or country rock songs she can be a threat for top 3. Her value may have peaked however.

Taylor - My favorite of the bunch, and no threat to leave. While his performance was uneven and far from his best, I thought he closed just fine and was much better than the judges felt. He doesn't always make good song choices, and this could hurt him in a few weeks if he's not careful.

Chris - I really like him when he is singing anything other than dated alt rock (and a few of those were Ok also). Much more versatile voice than many think. I believe this is the 3rd time he has went last, with big production value. Producers are clearly pushing him. I think they love having the rock element a part of the show, which is fine by me, but let him sink or swim on his own merits.
