you should just go to a high-end department store or good mall (like Caesar's Forum Shops) and spend an afternoon trying on different crap and experimenting with what fits you best and what appeals to you. You don't have to totally revamp and stock your new wardrobe in one fell swoop, enjoy the process.

steel seemed to have the best recs in this thread.

No one likes these khaki pants, I think they're really stylish and look pretty good on almost anyone. I also need some wardrobe advice and am so far finding this thread really advantageous.

What kind of stores can you get those kinds of khaki pants in? I don't want gay ass pockets on the side of your knees or whatever.

I really don't think you can go wrong with jeans, as long as they're not too tight.

I would love to know good stores to buy these jeans' at. I generally buy them at like department stores (Hects, May's etc., I know I know.)

Also, for shirts, I think I have a decent stock, supply, but generally find that after 1.5 weeks or so, I repeat the shirts I wear. Am I just being OCD and [censored]? How many different sets of jeans and shorts do you need? I have 2 different shorts and like 5 or so pants (jeans are pants).

With winter coming up, I would love pictures of good winter coats and also hoodies. I have a couple of hoodies from Aeropostale and hate wearing that. Also, I would love like cold weather, but not too cold coats.

I really hate the shoes recommended, but are sneakers bad shoes to wear with jeans and stuff? I would love some pictures of some good sneaker type shoes.

Hope I'm not hijacking your thread Clayton.

also quick note but offtopic:

when I go to the nice mens salon in ATL what should I specify to my hairdresser to get a nice looking change?

ive been to this place two times, the first time around the guy was good @ getting what i wanted, which all i got from it was that he cut at an angle and only used scissors. i asked that from another hairdresser the 2nd time around (woman argh) and she basically gave me a short version of what I have right now, ie suck.

is there some keyword with haircuts i should be spelling out so I can just tell it to haidressers from now on? my hair is essentially flat and bowlish if i grow it out, like beatles circa 60's, and i am looking for something better.

Find some celebrity pictures of cuts you like. Bring them to your place and have them choose which one will look best on you. I just started shaving my head to avoid paying that much for haircuts though.

I am an old fart, but go to Ermengildo Zegna and get a couple of button-down dress shirts. They go with either jeans or slacks and look nice and slightly Euro without being overly douchey. QFT, I am an old fart.

Some brands that have been mentioned in this thread that I can't help but say WTF? to:

Diesel - really?
Kenneth Cole - I guess if you want to pay $80 for shoes that look like they're worth $50 and are actually worth about $5.
Zara - No.
H&M - hahahha if you're a chick. See, chicks wear clothes once and throw them out.
Express - they actually sell men's clothes?

I'm sure there are more, but I'll be damned if there aren't some ridiculous recommendations here.

Get a nice watch.

Get Lasik Eye Surgery. I know a bunch of people thats had it done with no major problems. My advice is don't shop around looking for the best deal, just go with the most reputable company in your neighborhood.

I agree with basically everything your saying except Diesel. They still make the best looking jeans and their sneakers are pretty sweet for a casual look

Diesel certainly produces the trendiest jeans, in my experience Energie crosses the bridge between complete eurotrash and [censored] I would wear which doesn't look absurd.

Howard Zenga does make some nice dress shirts, and OP should check them out. Its not really an age thing, more of a they make nice shirts thing. Shouldnt matter so much if you are 20 or 40 for dress shirts.

aditya,

Khakis were cool in the 1990s when gap was big, now not so much. Its very important to not dress so blandly. No super drab clothing. Make sure you don't look like you are about to go golfing. So no khakis

Duke,

on the ball.

And yeah I realize im doing alot of criticizing without making many suggestings. Thats due to the fact that I live in Quebec so we dont get many of the chains of stores that you guys have in the States.
