What strikes me is that, having lived in the US since he was nine, married and with a kid, this really isn't an Iranian guy at all. Essentially they'll be sending him to a country completely foreign to him.

If he'd been say, 25 when he moved to the US, and is now 45 with wife and kid, I wouldn't have as strong a reaction to that part of it.

Lesson here: if you're a legal permanent resident and solidify your position by marrying a us citizen. Run, don't walk, to get your American citizenship. Although I wonder if his prior conviction would've blocked that.

This country will be no different from Nazi Germany in 5 years if the status quo is maintained. I'm not the biggest Sheikhan fan, but this is so random and arbitrary that it just makes me sick. I really don't get the sense that it was some kind of hard-core molestation, or else he woulda done a hell of a lot more than nine mo.s. Prolly was a 15-16 yr. old who wanted it & they both knew it. Sheik should fight this with everything he has.

Depends on what that law is in California. From the language, I would assume it does not apply to a 16-year-old.
