I am not outgoing enough around women because of limited experience socializing with girls when I was younger.
I am apparently needy. I don't know what it takes to make a long term relationship work.

Being married today is serious -EV. Get hitched, have kids, buy house. 5 years down the road, argue all the time, no freedom, wife files for divorce, she gets the kids and the house, you pay $$$$ for the next 15 years and live in some crappy apartment...
Seriously, I've been single all my life and am happy as hell. Been in a couple semi serious relationships, but I've realized my freedom is more important.

The worst part is, there is no reason for me to have no self-confidence. I've had plenty of relationships in the past (none in the last year, though), I'm pretty average-looking, athletic, intelligent, and yet, I always assume girls see the worst in me if I try to talk to them.

I'm only attracted to girls who are too attractive to be attracted to me. If I didn't think I could adjust this equation by dropping 30-40 lbs, I probably would have lowered my standards a long time ago. Right now it appears I'm going to be in limbo trying to lose weight the rest of my life.
