Furthermore, Pokerbob and the Matt Hughes looking guy to his right were good players... but to call anyone that plays 30-60 and below "world-class" is a bit of a stretch.

[/ QUOTE ]

You have never heard of Schneids, or bicycle kick, both of who are regulars in that game and are world class players. Canterbury is for giggles, Schneids was playing 1k/2k this time last year in Bobby's room.

Yes it is very impressive. I am unfortunately a $390 per hour loser playing 75/150 with an almost as impressive sample size as the 20/40.

*edit*
I am also $-1250/hour in 50/100 HU. Substantial sample size as well.

you are making a horrible leap in logic here. just because the game is relatively small does not mean the players are not excellent. a friend and i discussed this last night, and came to the conclusion that the best 9 players from MN could probably torture just about any game in the country. at least 5 of them play 200/400+ in LA and win.

[/ QUOTE ]

I actually think that might be true...

I wish I had the money to play 200-400... we could get a game going.

I guess I'm just trying to make this "leap of faith"... how do you build an adequete bank roll playing 30-60 to jump into the agro games at commerce that are 200-400???

I'm not here to piss on peoples bankrolls... but I think there is a lot more shenanigans going on than you are guys are willing to admit in that 30-60 game. Or maybe... it's due to these shenanigans that such huge bankrolls have been built... I don't know.

Maybe, because of the levels you can afford... you don't really care what's happening at the 30-60 game?

I know that if someone was cheating at my little $25 monday night game I have with co-workers... I might not catch it if someone was cheating cause the stakes don't really force me to bring my best game / skills of observation.

However, I regularly play 40-80 at commerce, 30-60 at the Wynn, and at times I've played a bit higher on line.

[/ QUOTE ]

Commerce 40/80 plays like Vegas 15/30 with a lag in it. 30/60 at Wynn can turn into a very agressive game some nights, but generally its kinda weak tight. I can only guess, but it sounds like you have never been exposed to this level of agro play before.

No I haven't... those limits are WAY out of my league and I would have no use for knowing who those players are... and unlike most other 20-30 year old poker players I'm not a poker groupie

A little thing called Online Poker. None of these guys were pro-live players, they built their rolls online.

Possibly... however... from what I've seen and heard (from live players and 2+2ers)... the 40-80 at commerce is the wild west. I tend to agree. It's not that the game was overly aggressive today... it's that the same two players would MULTI-BET preflop and then check fold the flop HU... that's not normal.

Fair enough... this is one thing that I KNOW I have tunnel vision about. I was always so paranoid about keeping money on line... I never took advantage of moving up stakes and building a big bank roll on line. So therefore I forget that hundreds of other players used this tool that I ignored.
