OK, I'm not totally thrilled about how the angle of this shot portrays my case. When the neighbor parks in front of his garage, it's DIRECTLY across from my driveway.

Looks like common every day parking scenario - should be no problem getting out of that driveway even with car parked right across the street. If SUV not made for these conditions, then SUV driver can't blame everyone else.

Why does everybody keep recommending this? Why not just be honest and tell him it's tough on his wife and she doesn't wanna ding his car on accident?

[/ QUOTE ]

umm his wife did hit the previous occupant... it is being honest.

Ok...let's try to see where the sidewalk is...

The shadow at the end of your driveway, where the shadow ends, is that on the sidewalk?

Addressing multiple points:

- Yes, other people DO park in front of their garages, like the two in the picture. They don't matter to me. I still don't think it's legal. Other places up the street where there's legal parking, there are specific parts of the curb that are painted red and are "No Parking" because a garage/driveway is across the street.

- My driveway slopes down, which makes it more difficult.

- There is no sidewalk on the other side of the street.

- Teaching her to back into the driveway is out of the question.

- I had a two-egg omelette sandwich on rye bread with turkey sausage for breakfast.

- The shadow extends past the sidewalk onto the street.

So it's harder than her backing out of the driveway with a car directly across?

parking directly behind someones driveway is a total dick move unless its very hard to find parking on the street.

LFS,

The more I think about it she should just deliberately hit their car now, something minor in like the $200-300 range, just to get it over with. Then you can explain that she's crazy like that and they probably won't park there anymore. Preemptive strike, if you will.
