I am pretty sure that everyone has stated we do not want Sam to leave. He would bring some value here.

Something you kids are missing that I will clear up. The reason I asked him his winrate and hands played is because he asked about whether or not he should quit his job. At the time, this didnt seem like the type of question The Highest Paid Online Poker player asks. If he responded with any number less then X, then I would have said you have no long term records.
He is discredited because he lied. If he said hes made $50/hr, then who cares. Welcome to the forum, but if he people talk BS, then we correct them. I think that is the entire point of this message board. So, no hard feelings. Everyone here says you are a good player. If you want to post, then post. I will see you on the tables, and I will give you an honest opinion in the future if you wish. That is what I gave you in all of these threads, complete honesty. |

grant, you are correct that i never should have mentioned my win-rate in response to KKF's post. that was an error in judgement on my part spurred by annoyance at KKF's misplaced condescension and probably a bit of my own ego getting in the way. ... however, the way that one statement - which was not even in the original post (something the flamers seem to forget or ignore) has devolved my carefully crafted post into a bitching session about how much I really make. I guess I did not realize that even supposed winning players like KKF, ZeeJustin, and others are so insecure and stupid. this is not a surprise from losing players like KKF's little puppy (Yeti), but the number of posters that i had previously respected that have felt the urge to ignore the important aspects of the post in favor of trying to discredit me has been a real disappointment.
note that i do not really expect any but those familiar with my game to believe me. however, i am disappointed that so many chose to make my winnings or lack thereof the focus of the thread. i of course have to take some responsibility - both for my lack of judgement in revealing my number and my egocentric desire to respond to the flamers. for what it is worth, i have provided all of my screen names and times that i have played so that someone who is really interested can verify my claims. but ultimately i don't want to waste my time in a forum that - while educational and entertaining at times - is likely to cause me more irritation and annoyance than the time put into posting is worth. |

I think ZJ's and KKF's last posts sum it up pretty well:
You come to this board not to really talk about hands, but to make the claim that you are the biggest online poker winner in history, something that the regulars refuse to believe. I don't play this high, so I'm going to refrain from commenting specifically on the claim, but I suggest: You can either: 1) show them by posting names / times and letting them validate what you say (which you have now done) and prove them wrong, or 2) admit you exaggerated the total earn. Once one of those things is accomplished, you will be able to move on and get some substance through. I think you have gotten a lot of substance despite the noise you have also encountered. After all, it is a pretty substantial claim. Best, Wayf |

Wayfare, will you please show me where in the original post I said or implied this this? Thanks! |

Dean, this is actually the first post from the "discreditors" that makes a lot of sense. however, perhaps you should consider that by all accounts (including those flaming me), I am a significantly winning player. At least two well respected posters have specifically said that I am the best they've ever played with. ... So the point that James and others trying to bring sanity to these threads makes is that it does not really matter whether I made the amount that I claim to have made or not. I am a winning player - so your concerns can be allayed. Thus, the focus of these threads should have been the real content and not the amount that I made.
Regards, Samo |

Sam -- You've sent me a private message, as I'm sure you've sent to others who are critical, and so here is the response.
You claim that I did not read your original post, and you never talked about win-rate. You're missing the point entirely. The only logical conclusion one can make is that you were BEGGING someone to ask you, so you could drag it out into the open. Don't think so? These are all quotes from the OP: "I often get statements like 'samoleus, how do you get these guys to just give you all their chips?'" "I simply downshifted, let them "run" the game, but walked away with the biggest profits..." "I have to say that I am stunned at how these posters claim to know how much I have won or lost at a time." "I must say that I am quite disappointed in certain posters - particularly Yeti and fsuplayer - who claim that I suck and/or that when I am sitting with mutiple 10K stacks, it is only because I have thrown away that much money to get there. These statements are both inaccurate and irresponsible." "I do not want to get into my win rate in detail..." "I am surprised and disappointed in those posters who felt themselves qualified to talk about how much I lose or whatever - without any knowledge thereof." "I was winning so much at poker (again please forgive me: my intent is not to brag about my winnings..." Right, you never intended to talk about your earn at all. |

so your interpretation of my first post was that its intent was to try and get someone to ask me how much I have made?
sad: perhaps you should try taking up a hobby that requires less intellectual capacity |

Look, I don't post here, but I just read both the threads and I'm going to repeat what every single sane person is saying.
You seem like a nice intelligent guy. Your claimed winrate is impossible. People want you to stay, but they can't have a serious discussion with you if you claim you have earned $2200/hr. That means you stack people every hour and never get stacked yourself. You can't do that. You just can't. It's not our close mindedness, it's just that you are claiming the impossible. If you said "I make $500 an hour", people would go "wow, nice winrate" and then everyone would be on your dick about being your friend. Nice first post, went downhill from there. |
