I dressed like a scrub and didn't feel too bad about it. The only place that I couldn't go was the Casino so this year I'll pack one niceish outfit. I didn't try to go to any swanky clubs but why the hell would you? Buy beers at the grocery store and drink in the park obv.

Brandon,

When I was in Monte Carlo (not for the tournament) I sat in the park with a couple of cold brews admiring the views. It was great... Until some police guys moved me along for looking like (and behaving like) a wino.

They don't like scruffs like me littering the place up and looking generally untidy.

Care to join me for a tie-and-jacket-required meal this year at Louis XV?

I haven't worn a jacket since I left the proper world about 5 years ago. If it still fits you're on.

So you are going to MC this year? I am sort of tempted to try and go to this restaurant--even if it's just for lunch or dessert. I will bring a tie and jacket.

Can't ever be sure about anything nowadays with the little'un around. But all things considered it's probably 99% I'll be there. And if so, I'll definitely try this place.

you've got to go with that "Pour les Gourmets" menu. It actually would be the best value with the tip added in.
I was in Paris last Feb. and knew their meals were pretty expensive. The French LOVE their creature comforts, lol.

It's a shame Deauville is no longer on the EPT circuit. The hotel was simply the best I've ever stayed in. The town was chocolate box perfect. And the restaurants in Deauville were reasonable and excellent. Overall it was equal first with Amsterdam as my favourite stop on the Euro poker tour..

If you are going to Monte Carlo, I would recommend dressing in fairly formal stylish well-made clothes everywhere.

You got to remember that as in neighboring France and Italy they are really into style and formality. They haven't been effected by the movement away from an emphasis on show in the Reformation. Also, Europe did not move away from formal dress as much as the US in did in the 1960s and 1970s.

Monte Carlo is extremely wealthy, both in terms of inhabitants and visitors and most people go around dressed very elegantly.
