Just watched the remake of Wicker Man with Nicolas Cage (I had a reason).

It was much worse than I was led to believe, and I was led to believe it was pretty bad. If you haven't yet seen it, forget the yet part and just don't.

I think people who liked this film might like The Grand Illusion, by Renoir. Rentable on Netflix, carried by Amazon.

Just saw Croupier for the first time tonight. As it is a gambling related movie and a few years old, I figure most of you have seen it already. Great movie. Definately gonna have to get this on DVD.

Heat, for about the 20th time.

Unfortunately there will probably never be another crime movie like this ever made again.

I watched 'Severance' yesterday which is a British film which is a bit like Deliverance in plot. A team building exercise in the wilds of Eastern Europe goes wrong when 'locals' or similar start taking out the team.

It's sort of meant to be comedy-suspense, but it wasn't that funny and only a little scary. It was okay, but nothing special.

I saw The Squid and the Whale last night. I really liked it. Noah Baumbach wrote it and Wes Anderson produced it so it has that whole 'feel' to it, but was more heavy on drama then the movies Anderson has written.

Jeff Daniels was great in it, but for some reason I kept wondering how that role would have been with Bill Murray.

I think Jeff Daniels is a great actor. Nobody can play a jerk like that guy. The ultimate self-absorbed parent.

Kind of a downer of a movie though. I read that it was "semi-autobiographical" which is sort of sad.

I was in the mood for a crapfest so I watched Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby on pay-per-view.

Surprisingly, I liked it. I'm really warming to Will Ferrel's brand of absurdest humor and meandering dialogues. Great cast, too.

I just caught "Kids" for the first time recently. I am still going WTF on a few things in it. Very engaging, left me very empty tho.
