btw considering samo was up 6 mil playing part time a year ago, then went pro and made more money than he could have dreamed of, he must be up somewhere around about 9-10 mil now, so Im not sure why he will only play for 50k. Also, he must be creeping up on Erik123's status as the biggest winner in online poker history, as the figure quoted for his total winnings is always 10 mil.

[/ QUOTE ]

Really? sam made 6 mil playing 5-10 and 10-20 part time on party? that seems off the charts. And what events did he win after going pro to make another 3-4 mil?

Hey, I remember seeing posts in HSNL about 10/20 games and thinking that was a gigantic amount of money.

Edit: And to most college students, $2000 is still a huge amount of cash.

Why do you guys need to act all big time? 50k is a lot of [censored] money regardless of how big a few select people play from time to time.

exactly james. especially from raptor who would in no way be playing this hu match vs either for this amount.

This has nothing to do with money. Two good players are better off playing in other games rather than each other. This is about whose e-penis is bigger, plain and simple.

I was being sarcastic. I still play mostly 5/10 and 10/20 and feel like a total wuss sometimes.

When 5/10 got reclassified as mid-stakes I was like, holy crap.

I actually think that was a mistake, because the guys who are beating 10/20 and up don't generally need/want advice from the forum.

That might be why 20 out of the most recent 50 topics on this forum (including this one!) are not about strategy.

Yeah, this forum is mostly just for messing around now. Once in a while an interesting hand pops up and gets 100 replies, but I think a lot of the posters (myself included) don't want to get too heavily into strategy because they feel that it's not worth the trade-off.

samo, why do you need all these stipulations to setup a hu match? if you think youre better than him than why not just setup a hu game without throwing around the word "freezeout"? then it would really be plain and simply about money, and not the egofest that youve turned it into. it seems that kkf is only putting up with your bs stipulations because he really wants to play you hu for his assessed ev. adding stipulations to these things is draining to both parties. what if kkf doesnt feel like playing for a while for whatever reason? now he cant because he has 10k locked up. thats retarded.

KKF and Samo,

I think you *SHOULD* definitely be concerned about laying down as much of a framework for this thing as possible beforehand.
It could get ugly anyway, so try your best to prevent that.

One thing I'd be worried about is what, specifically, counts as an "unreasonable" stoppage of play. I mean, realistically, since it is very unlikely that any *ONE* single independent observer will be present for all sessions (or invitations to them), who's to say who is stalling on what day, or otherwise acting in bad faith in terms of keeping the game moving? Curious if anybody has any thoughts on how best to insure that stalling is nipped in the bud. For instance, is there a limit on how many days a player may not play before being simply disqualified? And if there is, who verifies that this player or that was responsible for a stoppage anyway? No answers only questions I'm afraid. Special Sklansky Forum maybe?
