I'm in the minority in that I agree. It was a cool concept in season 1, where you knew that Palmer was going to be targeted that day. But by season 4, the fact that all this happens in one day is absurd. Same with season 5. President Palmer, a very recent and very popular president, is assassinated, and Logan goes on with business as usual.

In the real world, President Ford, a very unpopular president from 30+ years ago, dies of natural causes, and the Federal Government shuts down.

Just have everything happen within a month, and it will be much more believable.

Its on Fox, and the plot of most South Park episodes seems more belivable than 24.

It's not the best show on tv.
It used to be dumb fun that was pretty cutting edge in ways, now it's just dumb fun.

They are doing the same stuff over and over again, and a 24 drinking game that required you to drink every time someone says 'within the hour' would pretty much kill you.

As I understand it the show has at least 3 more seasons ahead of it. They could probably keep doing the same stuff as they are now and not lose much steam, but if they wanted to they might be able to reinvigorate the series:
step 1) kill off jack bauer.
They wont do it though, its too risky (might re-energize the series, might also kill it), plus theres money to be made in repeating the same old thing and, frankly, its not what most fans want.

Still, if you enjoy the show, great, I enjoy it too, but don't come here posting crap about how its the best show ever, or how 'if you don't like 24, just go watch [insert crappy pop show here]', because you sound like an idiot.

While certainly they pack a lot of [censored] into one "day," comparing it to this is silly. To expect Logan not to carry on with "taking care of business" is ridiculous when considering the enormous terror strikes (airport hijacking, nerve gas attacks, assassinating a Russian President, etc., etc.) happening on that very same day.
