Sure, it could happen to a good player if all the planets were in alignment, but to say that 1000 BBs is the new 300 can't be right.

A similar thing happened to me Jan 2006 - May 2006. I know what you are going through and it is the most miserable feeling in the world. For me, my priorities and life were out of whack and that was one of many reasons why my play was so awful. The problem with this bk is that you think you are playing well, you think your logic and decision making process is fine, you think you are just getting unlucky and running bad. Let me tell you something, you're wrong. I thought the same thing and now (in a good state of mind) I look back and realize how retarded I was, how bad I was playing and how dumb it was. You really need to take some time away from the game. Don't fool yourself into thinking you can tell yourself you will take a break and then still check 2+2 and only play wehn games are good or some [censored] like that, i did that for a while. Take a SERIOUS break. I mean no laptop, no 2+2, not even loading up sites to see how the games are, i mean no poker whatsoever for a while. For me 8 weeks was a pretty good amount of time, it might be shorter or longer for you. I backpacked europe for 8 weeks and had a blast. i came back in August and DESTROYED the games, no tilt, everything was back to normal.
Try it out.

You should think about getting a job.
Runs like this can happen to anyone at any time. Online games are going to get worse and not better for the foreseeable future and are probably doomed long term by bots anyway. A run like this while playing live poker would crush anyone's soul, plus being a full time live pro is just a horrendous lifestyle. You're a smart, personable guy with money in the bank and a useful degree. If you get a job, you'll end up with more money in the long term and you'll probably be happier, and there's nothing to stop you from continuing to play online as long as the games are good. I came to those conclusions about myself in July, got a job, and it's worked out great. scrub

[/ QUOTE ] Yep, I am pretty sure that is what BK and I thought as well. I won over anout 2 bb/100 for around three years with over 100k hands per month.. Then I proceeded to lose for 13 of 14 months at a rate of over 1.5 bb/100 with vurtually the same Vpip/pfr/aggro and position stats. I know 3 people that had over $500,000 BRs who were established players go completely bustovia in less than a years time... Im not saying it will happen to you, but pray it doesnt because there is no worse feeling than knowing that every time you log in you are going to play well and lose somewhere between 10-100 bb
