Sorry I missed the action in this project but I am glad to see that it picked up steam.

You haven't really missed it yet. Things have slowed way down in the middle parts of the process. If you're interested, it's still more than possible for you to get on the boat.

Is there a thread where we are posting promotion ideas?

Anyway, I have one. The key to search engine rankings is in link backs. Here is a good way to get some in-bound links.
Check out johnchow.com. He has a "top commenter" section. If you post enough comments in a month, you'll get a link to your site as the top commenter. Make sure when you fill out your name, you list the name of your website.
Also if anyone finds any other blogs using the "top commenter" addon to wordpress, let me know, since I would like to get several of these link backs going.

johnchow is also offering free links for reviews of his site. I sent him a review and got a link. He's saying the offer is open to anyone, just write a review and he'll link to it.

I haven't been participating in the forum project but I've been watching with interest. I launched a site last weekend that is in a different niche (ruby software development) and works a little differently -- it's essentially an aggregator of other peoples blog postings on ruby... but I figured I'd post it here to get feedback. I'm a software developer, so while the site is a bit more involved than your standard blog fare, it still only took about 15 hours to put together and I never have to spend any time generating content... so if I can get some people finding it, liking it and using it (and hopefully subsequently clicking on ads) then it seems like I should have a nice little reoccuring stream of revenue with little or no maintenence requirements. What do you guys think?

Anyone is free to join. It looks like you put together a social networking/dating site. I have a list on my site. It may not be a comprehensive list, but it definitely has most of the early adopters.

If anyone doesn't see their name on the list feel free to pm or email me.

I haven't seen much new info on the progress of the forum project.
Now that the initial excitement has died down, are there many active participants?
Was there ever a forum created to pool ideas/resources?
It appears many of the sites (not all) have had very few updates. Some haven't had new blog posts in over a month.

Thanks nano, I will use your list for now. And yes, it is a social networking site, but I hope it is ok for this project since it is partly about making money.
