Ok Best Buy Online has this on their site -

PlayStation 3 Launch
Best Buy Store Opening Hours and Ticket Process

Here are the details on how PS3 Launch Day will work at Best Buy store locations:

All Best Buy stores will open at 8:00 a.m. on November 17. Starting at 7 a.m., store employees will hand out tickets, and each ticket will be good for one PS3 console purchase. (One ticket per customer. See details below.*)

Each store will have a minimum of 20 of the 60GB PS3 Systems and 6 of the 20GB systems.

So, head over for your chance to be one of the first gamers to score the awesome new console, plus pick up all the games and accessories you'll need to complete the total PlayStation 3 experience.

Learn more about PlayStation 3, and check out the cool games and accessories.

Note: Due to limited supplies, PS3 is not available for sale on BestBuy.com during its initial release.

*Quantities limited. Tickets grant customers the option to buy one PS3 console and are valid within one hour of that store's opening. We are unable to guarantee all customers in line will receive a ticket. No rainchecks.

I wonder if Wal-Mart is going to have a similar ticket process. I'm going to wait at my local Wal-Mart in a small town, if the line up looks reasonable. Do you think we will all just line up and then they'll open the doors and it's a mad rush for the electronics section in the back?

Another question: how are people going to set up their sales? Are they going to do a buy-it-now option for say $2k and have only a 1 day sale? Or, are they going to put up a normal 3 day sale and see what happens?

Realize that the Walmarts are not getting the 10 units they originally thought they were. Many are reporting 2-4 60gb units available, and that they will be offering 10 or so rainchecks....which do NOT guarentee a unit by the holidays

I'm going to do a BIN for 2K - 3K and will ship overnight if the auction is completed by like 4pm Friday or whenever the latest I can get to UPS is.

Completed auctions are now hitting over 2K on ebay. And tons of auctions have been cancelled because EBGames or GameStop called the people and said they were too far down the list.

I just stopped by my local Wal-Mart and they only have 2 units (60GB) :X. All Wal-Marts in the area have 2, and I live in Quebec City so it's not a small town or w/e.

FutureShop (owned by BestBuy) has 10-12 per store it seems. That's where I'm headed, but it looks like I'll only be able to buy one.

WTF, the line already had 25-30 people in it when I got there.

The store by my house that's allowing 1 still has 0 people outside so I'll spend the night inside and go camp tomorrow.

Town of 1.7 Million with I think 8 Best Buy stores.
Morning newscast showed 3 people camping. When I got to that store at 4pm there were 25-30 people camping. I then immediately went to the best buy nearest my house and 0 people were camping. Bought 2 slayer CDs I had lost over the years.

5:00 news showed another Best Buy with 25 people waiting. Newscasters giggled.
6:00 news showed same Best Buy with 30 people waiting. Newscasters giggled.

So today in a few hours I'm going to the best buy that had 0 people and if that's full I'll check the Wal-Mart nearest my house. Although at this Wal-Mart the chance of getting asked for money is 100% and the chance of getting robbed is probably 5% but the chance of there being a line already is about 1%.
