I would not hesitate to call Trey/Matt as liberals. I doubt fiscal policy is a big priority in the basis of their political ideology. In the context of American polity, their views (and that of The Libertarian Party) are FAR closer to being in line with the liberal party in this country than the conservative party (again, like I said, ignoring fiscal policy and social welfare).

i've seen every single episode, it's one of my fave shows

they are obviously not partisan ie Liberal or Conservative...

small l liberal is something like classical liberalism, which is all about individualism, civil liberties and freedom of choice...also generally socially progressive
