I read the PDF with his signature.

Clearly, he is hurting the entire Republican party's prospects in the mid-terms for his own far-right agenda and his drawing-dead presidential aspirations. I think the rank and file can't wait for him to go.

Given the recent info, is it still likely Frist will still try to attach the internet gambling in the lame duck session. I know a lot will depend on the elections but say the Rep. still maintain the majority. Will we have a way to fight this in the lame duck?

So am i reading all of this right when i say that the chance for the internet gambling bill to be attached to the DOD bill is basically dead BEFORE adjournment. It seemed a few days ago we were resigned to our fate and now it looks as if the lame duck session will be our main threat. Is that right??

He definitely released this to the media. If you read the AP article link below, the references to his memo are consistent with the one I read.

This shows how big the rift in the Party is. And it shows how far Frist and Hastert went. I am sure Warner told them he would go to the media if they made him. They called his bluff; only he had Aces.

How do we fight in the lame duck session? Does this become any less significant to Frist after the elections or is he still just worrying about Iowa prime.?

The rift between Warner and Frist is not just on this DoD Authorization matter. Less than 2 weeks ago, there was a bigger public Republican rift on the 'torture rules" blowup with Warner and McCain versus the White House.

Iowa primaries...correct
It doesn't sound like Frist has a shot, will he ever think that or will he crusade for the anti gambling bill to the very end? What are the stoppers during the lame duck session that could curtail his efforts during that time?
