Default super loose play

I can't believe the party-poker like looseness on hsp. I bet any 18% VPIPer could make a killing on this table.

Only interesting hand for me was Daniels flopped set of seven vs Gus turned straight and flush draw. Didn't like Daniels play in that hand at all. And then he did his usual trick by saying: "I put you on a 9.". Why the heck would he play the hand like that if he put him on a 9, raise the friggin turn if you put him on a 9? Is he that confident Gus will fire the third barrel with a wiffed 9?

I really didn't get that play.

Phil Laak, Johny Chan, Daniel Alaei, Antonio, etc. the tight/solid players have destroyed the game, ignoring some suckouts.

Also I love Juanda's limp-reraise with AA, perfect play against Daniel the aggro-tard.

Hey Daniel - raising suited connectors is a good play *in position* *occasionally* for steal equity and disguise. Doing it predictably out of position is idiotic.

Not to mention 43 vs. Deeb's 55 on a 2 3 5 3 2 board.

[/ QUOTE ]

IIRC, Deeb had 53, not 55.

Yeah, I didn't like how he played that hand either. Gus said it too -- "I had the perfect hand."

I should post this hand from Daniel's perspective in SSNL. I'd be torn a new one.

But you wouldn't in HSNL. Those guys are all about protecting their stack over protecting their hand.

What? Eli has the best hand with a weak ace? Is the card display wrong or is the announcing just wrong?

[/ QUOTE ]

Either Gabe simply misspoke or there was a bad editing job done (or both - that mistake should have been caught). Given that the commentary is done AFTER editing, then the commentators are relying on the same card information we are.

[/ QUOTE ]

I know there has been a lot of arguing in this thread about Gabe's comments, but he wasn't making a direct comparison between the two hands.

Gus bet out.
Gabe said, "I don't think anyone can call here. Eli has the best hand."

Gabe was clearly comparing Eli's hand against all of the other potential callers in the hand.

I'm not saying Gabe doesn't make mistakes and I'm certainly not saying his announcing is easily understandable but I don't believe he was technically incorrect here.
