While I don't always agree with what she says, I like Elaine. Both as a poster and as a person. You've all ganged up on her because 1) she expresses strong opinions, and 2) she is Ed's wife. If her name was something like, oh, I don't know - Sponger - you'd all be up in arms over her exile.

Also, being Ed's wife made me predisposed to liking her. I like Ed a lot and a year ago I couldn't have imagined a scenario in which I could really dislike his wife.

Again, I'll simply point to Ed's mom. This isn't about Elaine's connection to Ed. It's not about her strong opinions either -- it's about how she presents them.

Evan, when you disagree with someone you explain your position in a reasoned, respectful way...so I understand why YOU specifically do not like Elaine. But really, the majority are doing this just to stir the pot.

People are all over Elaine for making "trollish posts," but guess what, half of OOT makes those same kind of posts. It's pretty obvious she's being singled out among a wide array of posters that have mixed quality of posts. Yes, she makes some stupid posts. Yes, a lot of "well respected" forum members make stupid posts too. Banning regular forum contributors that aren't complete asshats AND making a public spectacle of it is a recipe for disaster, as is now hopefully evident.
