Point of Impact by Stephen Hunter. If you haven't read it, you should. [/ QUOTE ] Definitely agree with POI. Most Hunter novels I think would adapt very well to the screen. Day before Midnight I believe would make a great movie as well. Always curious as to why none of his books were made into a movie. |

The whole time I was reading "The Miracle Life of Edgar Mint" I thought it would make an awesome movie. I just imdb'd it and it's in production. We'll see how it goes.
All my other favorite books, or ones that I've read in the last few years have already been or are already going to be movies (the Lovely Bones, A Scanner Darkly, 1984, Speak, TKAM, Of Mice and Men, etc...) |

I'd also love to see the whole RiverWorld series. I think the SciFi channel did something out of it where they compressed 5000 pages into a movie, but I stopped watching after the beginning.

Trans-Sister Radio by Chris Bohjalian
Jamie Lee Curtis would be perfect for this. I have to second Neuromancer, it's so much better written than the Matrix and would be more interesting. Also Snow Crash. I did a mock-up production of this for film school; I insisted on no "name" actors and Ridley Scott as director. It kicked azz. Any of the Darkover series by Marion Zimmer Bradley. There were really good stories - and think of the sequel potential! Shauna |

Gene Wolfe's Book of the New Sun, can't you just see the pitch meeting? "Yeh, so this guy is a torturer, see, but he falls in love with one of his subjects so instead of torturing her he kills her..."
I'd love, love, love a really good Elric movie. Or Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser or Vlad Taltos or, hell, Amber... Saberhagen's Berzerkers could make a great franchise. So would Miles Vorkosigan. Or Tepper's True Game. It's a very, very long list... |
