[ QUOTE ]
Hijack : Who do you guys think is best? Clark, Asimov, or Heinlein? I am going with Asimov but they're all very close. [/ QUOTE ] Heinlein. I don't really know why. I was simply more entertained by his books. |

So when do you guys vote or something and make a top 3 so that I can figure out which of all these I'm supposed to go out and read...cuz I'm not gonna be able to get to all of them currently.

[ QUOTE ]
It's either by Clarke or Asimov I'm not sure, but it's about this guy who is on this moon base with all the nukes, and some guy takes over, and is going to nuke a city on earth to demosntrate his power or something, and he locks himself with the nukes and then deliberately exposes himself to the radiation... not sure of the title but it's amazing and has the greatest ending EVER. [/ QUOTE ] It's called "The Long Watch" by Robert Heinlen and can be found in the collection The Past Through Tomorrow. |

Martin's "Sandkings" and Card's "Unaccompanied Sonata" are really great mentions. My all time favourite is still Heinlein's "All You Zombies" purely for the concept. I also really like "Misfit" by Heinlein, but that's mainly because it's the introduction of a character mentioned in many of his other books, but one who really doesn't feature in any of them.
